GMS WEEKLY NEWSLETTER FEBRUARY 28, 2025
Good Afternoon Wolf Pack Families!
It was a great week at Geisler Middle School! On Thursday, we had all 3 of our High School's Vocal Music Programs visit for the annual "Name of Love" tour. The event was amazing and our 8th grade vocal music students joined in to sing along for one of the songs. I was so impressed by the excellent behavior displayed by all of our students throughout the entire program.
Marking Period 3 Progress Reports can now be found in Skyward Family Access. This is a great opportunity for you to sit down with your student. Praise them for their academic successes and set goals for improving in areas where they may be struggling. There are still 4 weeks left in MP3! We want all of our students to find optimal success while at GMS!
Wishing all of our Wolf Pack Families a fantastic weekend,
Stuart Riley
Principal, Geisler Middle School

Hard copies are available by the attendance office for pick-up while supplies last. Happy reading!

RAMADAN
The first day of fasting for the holy month of Ramadan will likely be on March 1st or March 2nd depending on the sighting of the new moon. Ramadan is determined by the Islamic lunar calendar, which begins with the sighting of the crescent moon. During the holy month of Ramadan, observing Muslims fast from just before the sunrise prayer, Fajr, to the sunset prayer, Maghrib. Our GMS observing Muslim students may go to the media center during their lunch period if they would prefer. For those who celebrate, we wish you a meaningful month of Ramadan.

SPORTS UPDATE
This week, both the 6th/7th and 8th grade girls basketball teams showcased their skills and determination against Banks and Centennial Middle Schools. The 6th/7th grade team gave it their all on the court but unfortunately couldn't secure a victory. The 8th grade team, however, managed to split their games, achieving a hard-fought win against Banks Middle School, while falling short against Centennial. Both teams displayed great effort and sportsmanship throughout their matches.
The Geisler Wrestling Team continues their winning ways with multiple victories this week beating Banks and Smart Middle Schools.
REMINDER - All students attending our middle school athletic events as spectators will need an adult chaperone who will be responsible for them. Those without a chaperone will not be allowed to attend. The expectation is that chaperones will also be the transportation home for all students they have elected to supervise during the event.
Gladiators Lacrosse League
Gladiators Lacrosse is perfect for young athletes looking for an introduction to lacrosse. Teams available for students in 1st through 8th Grade. No experience required. Practice held in the evening at Clifford Smart Middle School. Registration Closes on March 5th! Click Here for more information.
