Congratulations to this group of students who received recognition after not only receiving a Pronghorn Pride Ticket, but for also being selected to represent their peers. These students were caught either modeling a school-wide expectation or showing ownership for their learning. Way to be #PronghornStrong!

Are you missing out on school, classroom or teacher communications??? We have your solution!

When parents create a PowerSchool account they are asked to use an email address. This email address is then used for all communication, regardless of annual updates in demographics.

Here's how to update your parent email in PowerSchool so that you don't miss out on important school and teacher communication:

1. Click on the Account Preferences Link on the left-hand menu in PowerSchool

2. Go to Account Email and update/change there.
   

3. To change username click on the pencil to the right of the field.
   

4. To change password click on the pencil to the right of the field.

To add an additional parent account, please contact your child(ren)'s school.

A friendly reminder that contacts added to a student's account will receive school communications. Please ensure that contacts added to a student's PowerSchool account are aware of this prior to receiving district communications. Thank you!

Please get in touch with the office before 3:00 for any last-minute changes at the end of the day, so we have plenty of time to communicate with staff members. (If preplanned, please email both the teacher and office.)

If you are coming in at the end of the day to check out a student, please note we will not call students down after 3:45 pm. They are already cleaning up and transitioning for release at the end of the day.

Parents, we are asking for your help. Please model the use of the sidewalk while waiting for your child. You are also requested to keep all young children picking up with you on the sidewalk and next to you. Also, please do not park in the live drive area of the parking lot. You must park if you or someone else is getting out of the vehicle.

Once you have your child with you, please help them cross the parking lot. We have seen several students simply running across a lot on their own after meeting up with an adult.

Please note that students have 20 minutes designated for eating with additional time during recess for those who need more time. The staff encourages all students to eat and to ensure they have plenty of time. However, students are ultimately responsible for eating. If you are concerned your child is not eating or is extremely hungry because they are in a rush for recess, please talk with your child. We will continue to encourage good eating habits.

We serve breakfast and lunch each day in the cafeteria. Prices: Breakfast $1.75 Lunch $2.80 Milk is included with both breakfast and lunch meals. Milk can be purchased separately for .50 cents. Students must have money on their account to purchase milk.

We now have a salad bar at lunch. Each day, we offer a fruit and a variety of vegetables.

Each student is set up with an account in the School Nutrition Services system. We will not turn a child away when they need a meal. However, if you are in need of assistance, you may fill out the Free and Reduced Form. We need only one application for all children in your household attending West Ada School District school. Click HERE to apply.

Payments for meals can be made using the Titan portal where you can manage your students account. Setting up a Titan account is free. If you would like to set up your child's lunch account, please use this LINK. From your account, you can monitor your student's activity, view menus, add funds (credit card only, transaction fee applies), and apply for free/reduced lunch. Payments can also be made directly to the Kitchen with cash or check (payable to School Nutrition). When sending payments with your student, please have them bring it to the cafeteria before school.

Pleasant View has built a new schedule that centers around 45-minute blocks to support fewer transitions and greater collaboration within the day to maximize our instructional time and learning opportunities for students. Please note this will take some adjustment, as we run on a four-day rotation. Your child's teacher will have a class schedule to identify the color-coded instructional day and specials your child attends.

PLEASE NOTE THE UPDATES.

Please send a water bottle with your child's FIRST and LAST name. It is hot outside, and we allow students to access those bottles on the playground and in the classroom. Students will be encouraged to fill their water bottle and keep in the classroom daily.

Also, please encourage your child to check for lost water bottles right away. These are piling up!

Thank you for helping your child find their way to their class lines each morning this first week. We will now ask parents to drop off at the exit points or the front of the building and allow their children to walk to their playground and class lines. Adults will be outside to help supervise.

Parents are welcome to come to the office to bring students to school following an appointment to check them in or out early.

The district uses the Raptor System for all visitors. If there is a reason for you to be in the building or on the grounds, you MUST CHECK IN with the office to obtain a visitor's sticker. You MUST bring your PHOTO ID. If you have already entered your information into the Raptor System this year, please feel free to scan your Driver's License to receive your visitors pass. If you have not completed this process, you will need additional assistance from the front office the first time you visit.
