Next Sunday on May 16th from 5-7pm there will be a dinner and meeting for parents and caregivers of current SSS 6th-8th graders. Please register to join us at bit.ly/6-8parents.
The purpose of the meeting is:
- To provide an opportunity for middle school parents and caregivers to connect with one another at the end of this challenging school year.
- To share data from the Franklin County Youth Survey, including information specific to SSS about substance use, the impact of COVID, and factors that impact our kids' wellbeing in four areas - family, peer group, school, and out-of-school time. 80% of SSS 7th & 8th graders completed this survey in December 2020, along with 71% of 7th-10th graders county-wide. The results are being shared with families, schools, policymakers, coaches, faith leaders and others to help our community create healthy, safe environments for our kids.
- To give updates on the YES Card, including a calendar of summer programs being offered and information about new providers.
A boxed dinner will be provided, and childcare and activities will be available for kids from PK-8th grade. We'll also be raffling off one $100 bonus YES Card and two $50 bonus YES Cards! Register for the event to be entered in the drawing (must be present to win).
