Attendance Reminder
School board policy requires a student who will be gone for more than 3 days (for vacation or other personal leave) must complete an Application for Verified Absences. Time out of class counts against the total number of policy absences per semester. These are not excused but verified absences. This must be turned in 2 weeks in advance of the first day of absence. There are 4 steps to this process and it does require administrators signature and signature of each teacher your student has. Plan ahead for proper approval. If you have questions please reach out to your attendance secretary for clarification.
Minga - electronic Hall Passes
Secretaries now will be using Minga for checking out students. Parents, be sure your student has the Minga App so we can use this tool for timely check outs. You, the parent can call your attendance secretary and then in turn your attendance secretary will send your student a check out pass using Minga. This electronic pass is only effective if it is installed on the students device. Please see the attached pdf on how students can request passes to destinations in the building.
Math and Science ACT prep sessions are limited to 70 students
Students and Parents will be contacted by email with more details
SRO Complaint Process
Any student, parent, teacher, or school administrator may submit a complaint regarding abuses or misconduct by the School Resource Officer (SRO) to the Norman Police Department (NPD) or Cleveland County Sheriff's Department (CCSO), either orally or in writing. Complaints will be forwarded to the Commanding Officer for investigation by NPD/CCSO.

Driver Education Initiative Award – Annual Scholarship Opportunity
The Topic of this year’s essay submissions deals with the serious implications of being a driver. In America, an average of 34,000 people die each year as a result of driving. This is more people who have died in one year as a result of driving, than the total number of American soldiers who have died from war in Iraq and Afghanistan combined. The total number of Americans who die within the span of two years as a result of driving is more than the total number of American deaths from the Vietnam war. This is to say, driving is more dangerous and deadly for our nation than being involved in combat, and highlights the serious consequences of being negligent on the road.* Please note, to limit the number of entries, the minimum word requirement for the essay submissions is 750 words. Entries not meeting the minimum word requirement will not be posted. More information on the program can be found at http://www.dmvedu.org/scholarship/
