A Message from the Superintendent
Congrats, grads!
Dear ACPS Students, Staff and Families,
Can you believe we've once again made it to the end of May? It seems like just yesterday our students were entering their schools for the first day of the 2023-24 school year and now we find ourselves in the throes of graduation season!
With that being said, I hope you will join me in congratulating the Albemarle County Public Schools Class of 2024. We are overjoyed at this achievement. If you were unable to attend the CATEC Completers Ceremony or the CLS Graduation Ceremony, both are available on our website. Students at Western Albemarle will graduate on Friday, May 31, at 8 p.m. on the school's turf field. Students at Albemarle High School will graduate on Monday, June 3, at 7 p.m. and Monticello students will graduate on Tuesday, June 4, at 6 p.m., both at the John Paul Jones Arena. If you can't make it to the ceremonies, they will be live streamed on our website.
I would also like to thank our staff. Without them, graduation celebrations and first days of school and last days of school would not be possible. I am continuously moved by their dedication and commitment to public education.
Although our school year is wrapping up, there is still plenty of work to be done to prepare for the 2024-25 school year. Each summer, ACPS continues to recruit new staff and teachers. This year, we are offering new bus drivers a $2,000 sign-on bonus! (We're also offering any ACPS employees who refer a bus driver a $1,000 bonus!)
