Welcome to our 5-8 Social Studies and Language Arts Teacher!
Here is a little about her:
Ms. Johnson loves volunteering as an American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) coach and referee and has tutored hundreds of TK-12 grade students throughout Southern California for two decades to build literacy and mathematics skills. Ms. Johnson is credentialed in history/social sciences and English/language arts and is thrilled to move back to her hometown to join the Mt. Baldy Joint Elementary team.
In her free time, Ms. Johnson is an avid film buff, trivia player, hiker, and explorer, who often seeks out museums, historical markers, and tourist sites. She can be found playing tug-o-war with her English Bulldog, Sophie, and spending quality time with her fiance, friends, and family. Ms. Johnson was born and raised in the Inland Empire and recently spent the last few years in the San Fernando Valley near where her grandparents once resided.
She attended the University of California, Riverside and majored in History, graduating summa cum laude and joining the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa honor society. Ms. Johnson is a Ph.D. candidate in United States history with focuses on the American Civil War, twentieth century popular culture, and music censorship. In 2005, she started teaching in UCR's History Department, lecturing in massive breadth courses on world history, and taught seminars on the world wars, the Civil War and Reconstruction, and modern pop culture studies.
Lunch Menus for October are Coming Your Way
Even though you fill out a lunch calendar in advance, for your child, please know that we call Claremont Nutrition Services every morning early with a lunch count so they can pack an accurate amount of meals for us to pick up mid-morning. We do not have extra meals.
It is important that your child arrives at school on time every day. Attendance is taken at 8:00. If your child is marked absent and has ordered a hot lunch, their lunch will be cancelled.

Help Us Keep Your Children Safe
In the morning:
- Please make sure to make arrangements for end of school BEFORE you leave home in the morning, and give your child a signed note to give to the office. We cannot accept email or phone call changes of plan, except in extreme emergency (a car crash or medical emergency).
- If you arrive after 8:00 a.m. you will need to park and escort your child into the office for a tardy slip, and let the front office know if your child is signed up to receive hot lunch.
- Please enter the parking lot in single file and wait until you are in front of the North gate to have your child exit the car. Do not pass a car that is stopped in front of the gate as students may be exiting the car on the left hand side. Please do not let your children off in the morning at the front gate or middle of the parking lot. Parents are sometimes distracted or rushed , and we have had close calls with cars backing toward children in the parking lot
Pre-Register Your Children!
COVID Testing for Students--Be Prepared and Pre-register!
Please know that we will not test your child without your verbal consent, even if you have turned in a virtual consent form--but doing so will eliminate a step down the road. We also have COLOR PCR tests, which take longer for results as they must be shipped to be processed., to verify a positive result from the antigen test.
Primary Health is the platform we use to track testing, parent consents, and notifications. The link below is to our district site.
We will be providing more information about the testing process, but ask for your assistance now in filling out the virtual testing consent for your chld(ren).
Please know that the online registration asks for questions that you may opt to not answer.
