Students will identify the topic and central idea of a book.

Students will use text features to identify important information in non-fiction texts.

Students will retell events and identify characters in a story.

Throughout the week we will read many books. Here are some of the books we will read this week.

First graders need to know an assortment of sight words to help them read. By the end of the school year, our students should know the 1st 100 Fry sight words.

This week, we will review words from previous lessons.

Spelling words: soft, pond, help, plant, stamp, link, honk, bank, trunk, think

Students will write a procedural text.

Students will write complete sentences.

Students will solve equations with addends 7, 8, and 9.

Students will solve word problems with subtraction.

Students will explore earth materials and types of soil.

Students will discuss Texas state symbols.
