A Note From Principal Cummings
Dear Haas Families,
I hope you all had a wonderful summer! As we prepare for a new school year, I’m thrilled to introduce myself as your new principal. With 17 years of teaching experience, including nine years at Haas Elementary, I’m excited to embark on this new journey with you and your children.
Having grown up in the Genesee Community and attended this very school from Preschool through 12th grade, I have deep roots here. My husband, Matt, also graduated from Genesee, and our oldest son, Brayden, is also a Genesee grad. Bryson, who’s entering 7th grade, and Brennan, who’s in 5th grade, are still part of the Genesee family. This school has a special place in my heart, and I’m honored to lead such a dedicated team.
We have some exciting initiatives lined up this year, including the introduction of two new ELA programs and the new TCI Social Studies curriculum. I’m eager to see the positive impact these programs will have on our students' learning and growth.
My main goals are to support our students and families, minimize behavior disruptions, maintain clear and open communication, and improve our academic scores. I am committed to ensuring everyone feels informed and supported throughout the school year.
I look forward to all the wonderful achievements we will accomplish together. Thank you for your support and enthusiasm as I step into this new role. Let’s make this school year a memorable and successful one!
Here’s to a fantastic year ahead!

- If you are picking up children that are in K-2nd grade only: Gym Pickup

- During Pickup, students will also enter the vehicle on the passenger side. Please ensure car seats are on the passenger side of the vehicle if needed.
- Before school begins, have your student practice buckling and unbuckling independently to ensure a quick and safe drop off and pick up.
- If their dismissal has changed, the office MUST be notified by 1:30pm.
- All Genesee students can receive a FREE breakfast & a FREE lunch each school day.
- If they do not care for the daily menu choices, they may bring a lunch from home.
- Staff are not in charge of refrigeration and will not provide microwaves for student lunches.
School Attendance
Strong school attendance is vital for student success. We expect students to attend school daily and on time. If your child is ill or has another reason to miss school, please contact the office by 9:00 AM to report the absence. We ask that you ensure your child comes to school on time. The morning bell rings at 8:05 AM, and we want all students in their classrooms, ready to start their day off right. If you need to pick your child up early, please contact the office by 1:30 PM so we can communicate this with their teacher. Last-minute changes to end-of-day routines make it difficult for the office staff to share information appropriately. Thank you for partnering with us to ensure your child has a positive school experience!
