Builta School, "We're So Happy You're Here"
Hispanic Heritage Awareness Month-September 15 - October 15
Dear Builta Families,
Last week, we had a wonderful Failabration assembly with authors Kristi and Brad Montague. The authors spoke with Builta students about celebrating the way failing actually means you tried and learned something. "Failing doesn’t have to be bad! It's just part of the process of learning to do something better." Failabration Pictures
This Thursday we are having our official state required lockdown drill with the Bolingbrook Police Department and the District Safety, Security Emergency Coordinator. Here is the link to our district letter which notifies families about district wide safety drill procedures. Parent/Guardian Safety Drill Notification Letter
This month, we'll be recognizing Hispanic Heritage Awareness Month with a bulletin board display.
We look forward to another great week of learning.
Sincerely,
Ms. Morgan

Bus Stop Notes
Bus Stop Times:
The transportation department encourages families to plan to arrive at your bus stop location a minimum of 5 minutes prior to the arrival time.
Weather, traffic, driver absenteeism, maintenance difficulties and unforeseen incidents are responsible for delays or early arrivals of school buses. Please know that the transportation department does everything possible to have all buses running on schedule every day and use of the MyStop App helps communicate estimated bus arrival times.
Please note that Bus stops may be up to 1.49 miles from a student’s residence. Stops in District 204 are less than .5 miles from students' residences.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MyStop:
- Allows parents/guardians and students to view the bus stop time, location, and projected arrival time. This feature is available during scheduled route times only.
- MyStop updates approximately every 5 seconds and adjusts the scheduled arrival time as the bus is traveling along its route.
- Will show if the bus has already passed the assigned stop.
To learn how to access and use the MyStop Mobile App, view the My Stop User Guide.
Cell Phones and Smartwatches Reminder
Per the district parent/student handbook, here are the rules regarding cell phones and smartwatches.
All electronic devices must be kept powered-off or silenced and out-of-sight during the regular school day unless: (a) the supervising teacher grants permission; (b) use of the device is provided in a student’s individualized education program (IEP); (c) it is used during the student’s lunch period, or (d) it is needed in an emergency that threatens the safety of students, staff, or other individuals.
The adults at Builta are here to help and support any student needing assistance or help. If your child is feeling ill or needs help during the school day, please direct your child to talk to her/his classroom teacher.
We appreciate your support in helping us prioritize learning and instruction during the school day. Also, please note that in elementary school, we do not allow use of electronic devices during lunch.
