BCE Bear Mail
Friday March 14th.
Message from the office.
Hello BCE Community and Families,
Reminder we have no school tomorrow for teacher professional development day.
Thank you to all that have already filled out the district survey. We are now in 1st place with 31% of our families completing the survey. Help us stay in 1st place, the survey only take about 5 minutes or less and the information is so important to us. We read every comment :). Please see the link below.
Tonight at 6 at the BCE Parent club meeting, Superintendent Shiermeyer will be presenting the draft of the district LCAP. It is a great time to hear where the district is going and ask any questions you might have.
Family Art night is next Thursday the 21st from 5:30-7. Hope you can join us for this family fun event. River Dogs will be here as well.
Have a wonderful weekend.

SLVUSD is looking to gather feedback from our families regarding our Academic, Communication, and Learning Environment goals. We anticipate the survey will take from five to seven minutes to complete. The valuable feedback that you submit will provide the district and the site with important information as we plan for the 2024-25 school year.
The survey will be open from Monday, March 11th through Friday, March 29th.
As a little incentive, the schools will receive additional site discretionary funds for student/teacher resources based on the percentage of parents that complete the survey for their site.
The breakdown for the financial incentive is as follows (percentage represents participation):
10% = $1,000
20% = $2,000
30% = $3,000
40% = $4,000
50% = $5,000
In addition, the site with the highest percentage of completed surveys will receive an additional $5,000.
All SLV schools are excited to engage in a little fun competition. Each site is ready for the challenge and believes that it will be their parents that will achieve the highest percentage of completed surveys.
This is the third year that SLV will offer an incentive for survey participation. A little reminder of the previous winners follows:
2022 - SLV Middle School
2023 - SLV Elementary School
2024 - ???
Who will the BIG winner be for 2024? REMEMBER ~ Just 5-7 minutes of your time can push your student's school to be the BIG winner that earns additional funds for your student's classroom!

Attendance
As you know, attendance is extremely important. That said, we understand children get sick and may miss some school. We notice some students are missing an excessive amount of school due to illness.
If your student is out for more than three days we do require a doctor's note. You can scan & send the document to our health aide, Kat, at kgafford@slvusd.org. You can send a screenshot to (831) 252-1491 or you can bring the document to us in person.
This is extremely important so please save the paperwork from any of your appointments and submit that documentation in a timely fashion. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
Should you have any questions please contact Kat at 338-6413 extension 149."
