Spotlight on Character Education
Character Crew
The Character Crew is a group of 3rd-5th grader students who have been chosen because of their consistent good character. Before being chosen the children complete an application, get a reference from their teacher, and also participate in a mock skit. About twelve children are chosen for one of three sessions for the year. The Character Crew meets each Monday from 2:40-4:00pm. During their meeting time they have a snack, leadership lesson, a time of service (help a kindergarten teacher, collect pop tabs, collect the trash, etc.), and prepare skits for the monthly character assemblies for K-2 and 3-5 students. The Character Crew leads our character kids each month in the Character Parade. These students represent the school well, and are a great example of CARROTPI at Union Academy.
