Reynolds' Report
Hello Roadrunner Families!
We have had an exciting spring at First Street School! We have received a number of different awards and acknowledgements that have been earned through the hard work of our staff, teachers, and students.
At the end of March, we received Gold Recognition in PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) from California PBIS and Placer County Office of Education. This means that we are providing high levels of behavior and academic support to all students, and also that we are providing high levels of interventions in behavior and academics at the group and individual level. This requires all of the teachers on our campus to work together to ensure that our students are getting the supports they need. Congratulations to our hard working teachers for this acknowledgement!
Our school was also featured in a video made by Placer County Office of Education about a next step in PBIS called iPBIS - Integrated Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. This year we were able to add a school counselor to our team, so we will be able to integrate mental health supports into our PBIS practice moving forward. Check out the video below to learn more about that!
Last, but not least, our school has received an exciting and important designation as a 2025 California Distinguished School. You may have noted this in our Topic of the Week section last week, but it definitely bears repeating! This acknowledgement comes from the California Department of Education. We received this designation because we have made incredible growth in closing the achievement gap on our campus. Again, this work is done by every member of our campus, including YOU as parents! Thank you for the work you do with your students each day to make sure they come to school ready to learn!
Remember that our spring break this year will be from April 14th-April 21st. This includes Monday the 21st, which is a little different this year. We will return to school on Tuesday, April 22nd. Our next newsletter update will come out after Spring Break on April 21st.
Have a wonderful week, Roadrunner Families!

Updates and Important Information
Supply Donations
It is already time to start thinking about next year and the wonderful things we will do with our students in the 2025-2026 school year. Each year, we strive to ensure that all students have their school supplies provided to them by the school. This is part of our AVID organizational goal, as well as part of our culture of abundance on campus.
Due to budget cuts this upcoming year, we are turning to our community to ensure that our tradition of providing students with their school supplies can remain strong.
Below, is an Amazon link, with the items that we typically use throughout the school year. We are asking you to pass this link along to anyone who might be interested in making a donation of school supplies to our school. Items ordered from our Amazon wish list will deliver directly to our school for use in the 2025-2026 school year!

First Street School PTO Updates
Box Tops for Education
Box Tops for Education
Box Tops collection continues digitally all year with the Box Tops app. First Street School gets $0.10 for each Box Top scanned for our school. While that isn't much on its own, the whole school community collecting them from Participating Products throughout the year can earn enough to pay for things like software memberships, supplies for classroom activities, or other low cost school support.
- Earn Box Tops for participating products by scanning receipts with the Box Tops app.
- When you shop online or use delivery services, you can earn Box Tops by forwarding your e-receipt to receipts@boxtops4education.com or by uploading it with the Box Tops app. Learn more about submitting e-receipts here.
