2021 Preliminary Property Tax Levy | watch
Assistant Superintendent for Finance, Facilities and Operations Eric DePorter presented the preliminary tax levy calculation in detail for Board consideration. He shared the timeline and process. Mr. DePorter also shared information about a Glendale Heights TIF district that is being dissolved after being active for 23 years. The impact of the TIF district being dissolved will be the addition of approximately $8 million dollars of new property growth being added to our tax rolls. In consideration of the TIF dollars coming onto our tax rolls, Mr. DePorter recommended that we estimate total new property growth for the district at $25 million. At the December meeting the Board will be asked to approve the 2021 levy which will fund the 2022-2023 school year.

Discussion
Adobe Licensing Purchase | watch
Director of Technology and Innovation Andrew Peterman presented a proposed Adobe licensing purchase for discussion. This is a new licensing structure for the district.
Eaton Battery and Capacitor Refresh | watch
Mr. Peterman also requests a battery refresh as this will get the battery through the 20 year
typical end of life of these resources.
Five-Year Capital Project Update | watch
Mr. DePorter presented a list of pressing needs that are slated to be addressed. He emphasized that the five year plan is constantly being updated to reflect items that emerge. There are some energy efficient enhancements for learning spaces including possible solar work for the summer of 2023. Mr. DePorter shared a brief summary, including rough estimates of the cost benefits of adding solar panels at Hadley Jr. High. If the Board is interested in exploring solar, this may be a good time to do so because there are some federal dollars available to offset a portion of the costs. For now, this information is in the update as a placeholder for the Board to think about as a future project.
Summer 2022 Capital Projects | watch
Mr. DePorter explained that we are focusing on not disrupting the buildings due to the possibility of needing to expand summer programs. The bulk of the summer 2022 work is connected to updating HVAC mechanical systems that are beyond their expected reliable lifespan.
Amend COVID-19 Testing Support Agreement End Date with The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois (SHIELD Testing) | watch
Dr. Kaczkowksi shared that SHIELD testing will be provided for free to the district through the end of the school year. Dr. Kaczkowski and Nurse Supervisor Katie Adduci answered Board member questions.
