ST. MARY PHOENIX NEWS

We are finishing our second week of online and remote learning. It has been a challenging week for everyone but "We are all in this together". Thank you to everyone who has embraced our current situation and are willing to offer helpful suggestions. One thing for sure, we are all learning together and making the most of a unique opportunity. Just a reminder that "Stay At Home" is for everyone's benefit. The office is not open at the current time but we are available to meet you if you email of call the school. The phones are answered remotely so someone is always available. The Drop-Off Cooler is open 24 hours a day and is checked daily. It has been working quite well. Let us know if you have helpful suggestions or you need accommodations to bring work to school.. Some suggestions are to take a picture and Dojo it to the teacher, scan and email, or drop off. We realize flexibility is key at this time. We continue to pray for everyone's health and well being and your safety. We miss everyone and all of your positive energy.

Some important things to remember:

Attendance: Please remember that we are still taking daily attendance. Please make sure your students is reporting to their homeroom teacher daily that they are prepared to participate in their education.your child's learning.

If your child needs help, please schedule a Google hangout meeting with your classroom teacher. We are here to make this experience as positive as it can be.

Mrs. Marvin and Ms. Barnes are available during the week to answer your questions via phone calls(330)262-8671 or via email. If you need anything please let us know and we can meet you at the school. The School Phone is forwarded so please reach out if you need something.

The outside cooler is available all 24 hours a day to for homework pick up or drop off is Friday, but the cooler is open anytime that is convenient for you to pick up or drop off. We know we have to be flexible under these circumstance. When leaving work, please put your first name and grade on the paperwork so we can give the work to the appropriate teacher.

Spring pictures are in! If you ordered pictures, they are available for pickup in the office. Call ahead.

Please continue to send me your cool pictures from home and what you are doing during this time at stm_lmarvin@tccsa.net. We love hearing from you and seeing what great things are happening at home.

Our Spring Break Is Next Week. Although we are asked to "Stay Home" how can you make the week entertaining. One way is to participate in "Virtual " Field Trips. There are many available through the National Parks, Zoos, and Museums. Also you can schedule daily in home theme days and have cool activities. Need an idea check out Pinterest. My daughter-in-law scheduled a camping day for my grand kids including making a large tent, pretend fire, smores, nature scavenger hunt behind their home, craft projects and camp food. She also had a dinosaur day with Science activities including making a volcano with lava, printing fossils, dinosaur identification and other cool dinosaur activities. The actual materials were found in the house so no one had to go to the store to buy anything. The grandkids helped come up with activities and that made it all so much better.
