TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK (May 6 - 10)

FIRST LEGO LEAGUE PARENT INFORMATION MEETING - There will be an informational parent meeting on Monday, May 20th at 6pm in the TJMS Library. More information on the season may be found below in the Activities/Athletics/Clubs section
TAG EVENT -- Plan to attend an evening to learn about TAG at PWSSD. Tuesday, May 21st in the TJMS Library, from 6 to 7:30pm. More information is found HERE
LEXIA LEVEL-UP LEARNERS UPDATE- We thank THESE LOCAL BUSINESS PARTNERS for their generous donations to our Lexia Leveling-up Rewards Program at TJMS. Their support encourages literacy initiatives and celebrates student growth and achievement. TRACK & FIELD (Grades 7 & 8)- SEASON INFORMATION
FALL 2024 FIRST LEGO LEAGUE CHALLENGE DIVISION SIGN UP - Does your child want to learn how to build robots? Does your child like coding? If you answered yes to either of these questions then you might want to try out the First Lego League Challenge division! TJMS will host up to five Challenge division teams for the Fall 2024 season. Students in grades 4th to 8th can participate. Space is limited, so students will be selected on a first come first serve basis.
First Lego League Challenge Division
Runs from September to early December
Teams meet twice a week for 1 hour at a time

Students participating in the First Lego League Challenge Division will work together on a team to build an autonomous competition robot, research an innovation project, and present their work to a panel of judges at a regional competition. The top teams at each regional competition will advance to sectionals and possibly the state competition. Email info@pwssd-fll.org if you have any questions.
🔬SCIENCE CLUB - Club/Sign Up Information.
🐆STUDENT LEADERSHIP - CALLING ALL 5th - 8th GRADE LEADERS!!! This extracurricular activity for students in grades 5-8 who want to positively impact their school community, demonstrate the Jaguar Way (Respect, Responsibility & KIndness) and plan fun school events and activities. All interested students are invited to come and share your ideas. Meetings will be at 7:00am in the TJ Choir Room on the 2nd Tuesday of the month (Next meeting is on Tuesday, May 14th): More information may be found HERE
📖YEARBOOK CLUB - 6th - 8th grade students may join the Yearbook Club to help capture memories and tell the story of their time at Thomas Jefferson Middle School. Students will help with taking pictures, developing the theme for the yearbook, creating the design of the yearbook, editing the yearbook, and organizing the images and memories from the year into a beautiful keepsake! If you were unable to attend last week's meeting, but are still interested in joining please fill out this Yearbook Google SIgn Up Form to gather information and a permission form.
