What is Canvas?

The District has selected Canvas as our learning management system (LMS) for grades K-12. Think of Canvas as your student's virtual classroom. The District selected Canvas to provide a consistent platform K-12 to support students and parents managing Comprehensive Distance Learning this Fall. The Canvas LMS puts everything in one spot for your child(ren). They will access all their assignments, grades, course content, and interact with their teacher and classmates.


Parents can sign up as an observer in Canvas. Observers can link their Canvas accounts to their student's account to see assignments, grades, due dates, announcements and course content. Having this access will greatly assist parents in partnering with teachers to provide a richer learning experience. To prepare parents and students, we are including training videos to get you ready for the start of the school year.


We are still in the process of setting up Canvas. Student and Parent accounts will not be active until next week. Parents will receive login instructions and training videos to create accounts and link up your child(ren).


Teachers will be support students in using Canvas the first few weeks of school.

  • The student login to a district Chromebook, Google and Canvas accounts are all the same. They follow this pattern:

Using a District Chromebook:

  • Your Canvas homepage will automatically show on the screen after you sign in to your Chromebook using your username and password. You can also access through the dropdown app menu (9dots) in the upper right hand corner
