Weekly Update to Families
October 25, 2024
Message from the Principal
Goodwater Families,
What an amazing week! We kicked off Red Ribbon Week with our first pep rally of the year (See the highlights below). A big thank you to Sargent Winters for being our guest speaker on his journey and healthy living. Our students and staff thoroughly enjoyed his presentation.
Continue to ask your students about their day and check out the online resources like Khan Academy, Typing.com, etc. We are a team in ensuring that our students/children are successful this year academically. We've got this!
A Few Additional Notes:
- Movie Night: Thank you for your participation in Movie Night. It was a great turn out. There were around 200 individuals in attendance. Yay!
- Fall Festival (11/1): Please sign up here if you would like to be a vendor or volunteer for this event. Thank you in advance for helping to make this a great event for our students.
- Veteran's Day (11/11): We will have a veteran's day assembly on 11/11 at 8:30 am. If you have a picture of a veteran in your household that you would like to share; please email it to Beverly.al-tabatabaie@goodwatermontessori.org. We are working on a special presentation for the event.

Double Your Giving
We wanted to share a great way to maximize the impact of your donations to our school! Many employers offer matching gift or grant programs, where they will match your charitable contributions dollar for dollar.
By signing up for your company's matching gift program, your future donations could go twice as far. For example, if you donate $25, your employer could match that amount, turning your $25 into $50 for our school!
We encourage you to check with your HR department or employer's benefits portal to see if this option is available. It’s an easy way to make a big difference, and it only takes a few minutes to sign up. You can click the link below to check an alphabetical list of employers who participate in the matching program.
Thank you for your continued support in making our school a great place for our children to learn and grow.
Here is the list of participating employees in alphabetical order.
Book It!
This year our classroom is participating in the BOOK IT! Program to encourage your child to find the joy in reading. The mission of the program is to turn “have to read” into “want to read” and the only way to get better at reading is to take the time to do it! Below is how the program works, along with ideas on how you can get involved at home. Please be sure to confirm your approval using the code from the parent approval letter I will be sending to you.
Theme of the Month - Resilience- October
What is Resilience?
- Being resilient refers to someone who can quickly recover from setbacks, stress, adverse situations or unexpected changes.
Why Focus on Resilience?
- Resilience gives us the strength to bounce back from challenges in life. And we all face hardships at some point in life. But those who develop resilience can tap into their strengths and support systems. This gives us the best chance to overcome challenges and work through problems.
Resilience In Action
- Acknowledge and affirm acts of resilience. Publicly praise a student who models resilience.
