"The Ladies of Charity Thrift Shop is a ministry of the Ladies of Charity of Chattanooga. Located at 2821
Rossville Blvd., in Chattanooga, the store accepts donations of gently used items such as clothing, housewares, and furniture and offers them to the general public at extremely affordable prices. Funds received from store sales go to support the LOCC's social assistance, providing emergency financial and/or physical assistance to individuals and families in crisis. Our job is to fulfill the specific needs of neighbors who might otherwise be in danger of "falling through the cracks" of our existing social service network."

The vision of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is to change the face of charity by offering hope and help to those we serve through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. We offer a hand-up, not a handout, to those we serve in our community. We offer assistance with food, utilities, rent and other personal needs. It is not easy asking for help so their requests are always handled with confidentiality and consideration for their privacy and with dignity. The St Vincent de Paul Society, St Gerard Majella Conference extends assistance to our neighbors living in Chickamauga, Flintstone, Fort Oglethorpe, Lafayette, Ringgold, Rock Springs, and Rossville. They do not have to be of the Catholic Faith or attend our Church. Our service is there for all our neighbors in need within these 7 cities.
"To apply for aid, make an appointment at the SHARE Partner Agency in your county of residence. Each eligibility decision is based on the change in circumstances that caused the crisis as determined by a local case manager. The level of assistance is based on need, available funds, and what it will take to resolve the crisis."
"The Salvation Army created the Project SHARE program in 1985 to serve those in need in Georgia; today it is our primary resource for emergency family assistance throughout the state. Qualified families who have experienced a sudden financial crisis – disasters that threaten the stability of the home – are able to get relief, often preventing utility cut-off or eviction. SHARE is one of the most successful privately funded utility assistance programs in the United States, providing more than $2 million in aid to more than 40,000 Georgians each year."

How the Leak Protection Program works:
First the customer experiencing a water line break should contact the Water Authority to alert us of the water line break. The customer should then submit to the Water Authority a fee waiver request/Leak Protection Service Affidavit (located at the bottom of page for download), including proof of repairs made (by either an invoice on a licensed plumber’s company letterhead or a receipt for materials purchased from a hardware store for the repairs). After a review by the Water Authority and approval of the fee waiver request, the customer could be eligible for a fee reduction and be required to pay only the average monthly water bill based upon the previous six months at the metered address. The leak protection program will cover the customer for one occurrence (leak) per year, and the maximum amount of the leak protection benefit is $500.00.
This is a great program in the event of a water line break at your residence. The Leak Protection Program will allow you, the customer, much needed relief in the event of an unanticipated high water bill arising from the water leak.
For more details about the leak protection program contact the Water Authority at (706) 820-1455.
