A Note From the Principal

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Spring is getting closer every day! We are planning to have outdoor lunches as often as weather permits. The students really enjoy the extra time outside! Our PTO is working hard to raise funds for new picnic tables - please mark your calendars for their Bingo Night Fundraiser event on Friday, April 4, where they will have tons of raffles, auctions, and baskets (including the always-popular experiences donated by our teachers!). The proceeds from the Bingo event will help to fund new picnic tables for our students to enjoy for many years.

Also, please make sure to pack extra clothes for your students in case of any spills or falls in the mud! We cannot provide extra clothing in all sizes. If your child has borrowed any of our extra clothing this year, please wash and return it to school as soon as possible. Thank you for your help!

Last but not least - we will have a mini spirit week next week! We're encouraging everyone to wear green/shamrocks/etc. for St. Patrick's Day on Monday the 17th, and beachy/vacation/luau gear on Friday the 21st to show we are ready for spring break!

OSOB - Rescue Village Donations List

We will be collecting donations for Rescue Village at Family Literacy Night on March 19! Please consider making a contribution to this local animal shelter. We will have a representative from Rescue Village at the event, and we would love for their animals to receive lots of goodies from Munson! Please see the list below for their donation wishlist. Dear Parents and Guardians,

Summer weather is just around the corner, and staying safe in and around water is one of the most important ways you can keep your family healthy. The Geauga Family YMCA is offering a Water Safety Rodeo workshop to help teach you and your children about water safety! The Water Safety Rodeo will be on Sunday, May 4 from 1-3pm. Topper Tickets

Topper Tickets are given to students as a special recognition when they demonstrate a Topper Trait - Taking Responsibility, Offering Kindness, and Persevering. Each day, we randomly pull a few Topper Tickets from each grade level to receive a prize!

The Infinite Campus Annual Update must be completed by ALL Chardon Local Schools households every year, for every student, even if there are no changes. We need your updated information as soon as possible! Find instructions on how to complete the Annual Update HERE.

2025-2026 Kindergarten Registration is OPEN!

Chardon Schools is excited to welcome your Hilltopper to school in the fall! Convenient, online registration for your kindergarten student is now available. Your student must be five (5) years of age or older on or before August 1, 2025 to attend kindergarten in 2025-2026. Please visit the Chardon Schools Registration page to learn more and enroll!

Chardon Family Connection Nights!

Are you looking for ways to grow together as a family? Join us at Chardon Middle School for a multi-part series of activities to foster connection and build confidence within your family. Just Run! Register Today!

Just Run is a nonprofit youth program whose mission is to improve the health and well-being of children. Munson's Just Run program will start April 1, with practices every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:45-4:15 preparing us to participate in a 5K on Memorial Day weekend. Practices will include a warmup, running practice, and fun games! See more details below, and register your child soon! Chardon Library Book Buddies Program

The Chardon Library is offering a free Book Buddies program for rising 2nd and 3rd graders this summer! Students who need extra support and/or encouragement in reading will be paired with a middle or high school student volunteer. Volunteers will provide 6 one-hour reading sessions between June 2-August 1. Each student who completes 6 sessions will receive a Shel Silverstein poetry book donated by the Chardon Rotary, and there will be an Ice Cream Social on August 6 at 3pm on the Chardon Square to celebrate students' hard work!

To sign up your child for Book Buddies, please complete the form that was sent home and return it to school or the Chardon Library by May 9. Your student's Book Buddy will contact you to arrange meeting times.

Mark your calendars for Munson PTO's Bingo Night Fundraiser on Friday, April 4 from 6-8pm at the Munson Town Hall! This will be a fun night for the whole family! Along with Bingo games, we'll have tons of raffles, a silent auction, Chinese auction baskets, and pizza! We are working to raise money for new picnic tables for the school, and we need your support! Save the date - we can't wait to see you and your family there!
