On Friday, August 9th the Brimm family grew to 4! We are so excited to be home with Melanie Nicole Brimm, and are enjoying time at home!

Mr. Mike Fiske will be the band sub until Mr. Brimm returns on Monday, September 9th. Mr. Fiske has 40 years of experience teaching band in public schools in Illinois and Indiana. He was the band director for many years at Morris High School and retired at Joliet Central High School. All of our band students will be in great hands!

After the first day of school, your student should come home with a band handbook. Please take a few moments to read and look it over with your student. Once complete, please tear off the back page to sign and return to Mr. Fiske by the written date.

Hello! My name is Mr. Brimm and I teach 5th Grade Beginning Band, 6th Grade Cadet Band, 7th/8th Grade Concert Band, the CCMS Marching Band, CCMS Jazz Band, and the morning section of 6th Grade General Music.

This will be my second year teaching in Coal City, but my 5th year teaching band. Previously, I was the 5th-12th Grade Band and Choir Director at Indian Creek CUSD #425 which is just South of DeKalb, IL. I grew up in Braidwood and graduated from Reed-Custer High School before attending Joliet Junior College and Northern Illinois University. During my time in college, I was on staff with the Downer's Grove South High School Marching Band, marched Drum Corp International with Music City Drum and Bugle Corps (2015) and the Madison Scouts (2016-2018), and have performed with local community bands. I live in Plainfield with my wife Rachel, my son Justin, daughter Melanie, and our two cats Spud and Ruthie.
