An Inclusive Approach to the Holiday Season
As we wrap up 2020, it is evident that we all want to spread love and joy to those around us. We want to acknowledge and celebrate the season, and we should! We do, however, need to be mindful that not all LDSB staff and students celebrate the same holidays. In these times where we long for the company and support of friends and family, we do not want anyone to feel excluded. This newsletter will provide information on and suggestions for an inclusive festive season.
The message is not to erase one holiday, but recognize other celebrations equally!
As LDSB employees, we want to work together to show staff and students that our lived experiences are valuable to all of us! We have a lot to celebrate!
This is one more step towards everyone seeing themselves in Limestone!
The importance of sharing holidays you don't celebrate
Holidays teach similarities.

Holidays bring people together.
Here is an article for families explaining the merits of learning about different holidays:

Have you looked at LDSB's 2020-2021 Dates of Significance Calendar?
Are your holiday playlists equally representative of this month's celebrations?
Is there a way we can learn from each other, in an authentic way?
