Celebrate the Arts: Concert Band Pre-UIL
TUESDAY, MARCH 25, 2025
Celebrate the arts concert is a concert for parents and members of our community to celebrate the musical artistry of our students in Wylie. This event is open to the public and we would like for every parent to attend. In order to constantly improve in the art of making music, we will also be receiving comments from three esteemed directors from the north Texas area.
Location:
Wylie East High School – Plan for traffic.
Attire:
Formal Concert Attire. All must have black dress shoes.
Cases:
Each band has a location on the chart below. Use the map.
Times:
All ensembles have different Arrival, Warm up, and Performance times.
This will be no more than 2 hours for each group. Plan accordingly for traffic and parking.
Jazz Band- Doreen Ketchens Concert Tickets On Sale Now!
Doreen Ketchens, one of the greatest living jazz musicians, is coming to Wylie to perform a concert with the Jazz Band! Tickets are on sale now! This event is a full band fundraiser, so please come and enjoy a night of spectacular music!

COLOR GUARD
TWO Championship weekends down, one regional and one championship more to go before WGI! Thank you everyone for helping the JV at Championships. History is being made before our eyes! Varsity, let us continue this trend!!! 3 Banners is the goal!!!!
Varsity WGI SouthWest Power Regional this coming weekend at Coppell HS. Prelims Saturday, finals on Sunday! JV, please sign up for floor Crew!

DRUMLINE WORKSHOPS AND AUDITIONS
- First workshop is March 31!
- Make sure you have a copy of the audition packet and understand all aspects of the audition. If not, ask a director asap!
- Start working on this with your private lesson teachers now to have the best chances of making the competition group!
- If you did not get a copy of the concert audition etudes last week ask a director for a copy.
BAND BOOSTER UPDATE
Please join us for the last booster meeting of the school year on April 1, which will be annual elections.
Thank you to those who volunteered for the annual audit committee. We now have enough members to conduct the audit. The meeting will be on May 18 from 2:00-4:00 PM. Kelli Minarzik is our chairperson.
