Taft Mid-October Updates!!
Attendance Updates
As we head into the Fall it is important to help students stay healthy so they can be at school engaged in learning with their class! Please help us by reviewing Health Tips with your family! See the image below for some basic ideas.
At Taft our goal is to have great attendance. More time at school allows students to build a strong sense of belonging, enjoy the school community, and learn along with their peers. Last year we set a goal for a 94% monthly attendance rate for the whole school. We understand that illness and other unexpected situations do arise, but please support good attendance habits by having your child to school on time, everyday when they are able to be at school. Since the beginning of the school year, we have a 96% attendance rate!! What a great start to the school year!
If you are experiencing difficulties or need support in this area, please reach out to Mrs. Russell or Mrs. Fieck (School Social Worker). We are more than happy to problem solve with you. Please be aware that due to state statutes, you will receive a communication if your child's absences reach 5, 10 or more days out of school.
As always, please communicate with me if you have any questions or concerns.
Fall Conferences
2024 Fall Conference Sign up is now open! Please be sure to sign up for a time to meet with your student's teacher (s). We are looking forward to having all Taft families attend! Our goal is 100% participation.
Character Strong
We are starting a new character trait next week!! For the next four weeks we will be introducing and talking about Responsibility. Please read the attached family note to find out ways you can support this character trait at home!
Help Needed
Building a Timberwolf Construction Zone
We are looking to offer fun and creative ways for students to play at recess! Building a Timberwolf Construction Zone on the South playground would not take much! Can you help by donating new or gently used toy construction equipment? Do you know a business that may be interested in working with us to build our Zone? Please reach out to me at karen.russell@neenah.k12.wi.us or send in items to donate!!
