Week of September 23, 2024
From the Principal's Desk
Principal Van Hoesen's View
Dear Trix Families,
Scholars will be taking baseline assessments all month to determine where they are in all subjects.
This week, we will begin NWEA testing. Please make sure students are getting plenty of rest to be the best version of themselves.
This year we will be intentional about having our scholars in school everyday! If there is anything that you feel is in the way of getting your scholar to school each day, please let me know. We have so much to planned for this school year. Everyday of attendance matters as we are hitting the ground running with instruction!
COUNT DAY IS OCTOBER 2ND!
Count day is so important because this is how schools get funded! We will have tons of incentives this day! Look forward to communication about count day. For the first time, we are only a few students away from an enrollment record!
Here are a few reminders:
Doors will open for scholars to have breakfast at 7:45. Our instructional day begins at 8:05 with our daily morning meeting.
All scholars will be dismissed from outside this year, weather permitting.
Students are expected to be in the appropriate uniform for their grade level. If you are unsure about your scholar's uniform color, please be sure to click the link for the Family Welcome Packet below .
With love,
Mrs. Van Hoesen

Parent Engagement
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we continue to move forward in the school year, we want to take a moment to highlight the vital role that parent engagement plays in our school community and in the success of our scholars.
Research consistently shows that when parents are involved in their children’s education, it leads to improved academic performance, better behavior, and increased motivation. Your engagement sends a powerful message to your child about the value of education and their potential for success.
Here are a few ways your involvement makes a difference:
1. Academic Support: By participating in school events, attending parent-teacher conferences, and communicating with teachers, you can better understand your child's academic progress and help support them at home.
2. Building a Strong Community: Engaging with the school helps foster a sense of community. When parents collaborate with educators, we create a supportive environment where scholar’s feel valued and motivated.
3. Role Modeling: Your active participation demonstrates to your child the importance of commitment and responsibility, teaching them to value their education.
4. Feedback and Improvement: Your insights and perspectives are invaluable. Your involvement helps us continually improve our programs and create a learning environment that meets the needs of all students.
We invite you to join us in various ways—whether by volunteering in the classroom, attending school events, or simply staying in touch with teachers. Every contribution, no matter how small, has a significant impact.
Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to your child’s education. Together, we can create a thriving environment where all scholar’s can succeed.
Warm Regards,
Ms. Hayes
