Dear Central Road Families,
It is hard to believe September is winding down. As we head into October, we look forward to continued teaching and learning focused on growth and differentiation. The fall weather this time of the year reminds us of how much change and growth our students will experience over the course of a school year.
Thank you for taking time to read our communication. If you have any questions or concerns related to the information shared, please feel free to reach out at any time. We too thank you all in advance for your flexibility, patience, and partnership. Our door(s) continue to always be open to listen and work together. School Bus/Transportation Information
Bus routes/stops for your children are now available in MyRide K-12. Please check this app regularly especially if you are still waiting to be routed or requested a change. Please log in to see the pick up and drop off times as well as the location of your child's bus stop. Please contact our school office at 847-963-5100 with any change requests and we will contact transportation on your behalf. Paid transportation requests will be considered after September 30. School Safety Drills
The safety of our students is always a top priority at our school. Our goal is not only to provide a safe environment, but to also prepare our students, staff, and school community to know how to respond if a crisis arises. To that end, each year, schools are required by Illinois School Code to conduct safety drills.
This year, as in years past, we will do 2 lockdown drills, 3 fire drills, 1 bus evacuation drill, and 1 shelter in place drill. For lockdown drills, parents have the option to opt their student out of the drill. If you would like to opt your student out of lockdown drills, please complete the Safety Drill Opt-Out Form. Our first lockdown drill is tentatively set for 9/30. We too will hold a shelter in place drill on 10/4. We completed our first fire drill on 9/13 and bus evacuation practice took place on 9/16 upon arrival to school.
Parent/Student Handbook
Each year we update our Parent/Student Handbook to provide families with a quick reference to all things District 15. If you haven’t already done so, please make some time to review the Parent/Student Handbook.
Please review policy information related to cell phones and wearable watches on page 23-all electronic devices (including wearable devices) must be kept powered-off or silenced and out-of-sight during the regular school day.

Central Road's PTA
We have an amazing and supportive Parent-Teacher Association. Please take a moment to read a letter to parents from our PTA. Our next PTA meeting will take place on Tuesday, October 16th at 6:30 pm.
