Shoemaker After School University
We are pleased to announce that our Shoemaker After-School University is open. Students can take advantage of a quiet place to work, accompanied by certified teachers in specific subjects. The Shoemaker After-School University is open Monday-Thursday, from 4:30-6:00 PM, unless otherwise noted. We welcome your student to take advantage of this tremendous opportunity in academics.
Campus Events
HOCO
Homecoming will be October 14th at Leo Buckley Stadium against Waco. Senior Royalty will be announced at half time. The dance will be at Shoemaker High School on October 15th at 7:00. The theme is "Met Gala Affair."
Boys and Girls Club
Boys and Girls Club is on campus during Power Hour and after school.
Picture Days
Senior Portrait retakes are on October 3rd and 4th. 9-11th grade are on October 20-21.
Harvest Fest
National Honor Society and Student Council will be hosting a Trunk N Treat/Harvest Fest on Wednesday, October 26th in the Shoemaker High School parking lot. There will lots of fun and games for the family.
Hispanic Heritage Month
Shoemaker High School celebrates national Hispanic Heritage Month on campus. Clubs and organizations use Power Hour to talk about culture and decorate their doors.
Resource fair
Workforce Solutions of Central Texas Presents a September Social resource fair for youth with disabilities.
Senior Events
FAFSA
Counselors will be meeting with Seniors on September 28th to go over the Free Application for Federal Student Aid before it opens on October 1st. FAFSA is now a graduation requirement in Texas, so make sure your senior is at school.
Senior Sunrise
Join the class of 2023 on October 13th for the Sunrise and a light breakfast to celebrate the beginning of their last year of high school. We will meet outside at 7:00 AM to celebrate. We will watch the sun set together in May.
Senior Panoramic
The senior panoramic picture will be held on October 13th immediately following the Senior Sunrise breakfast. This will be our last opportunity to photograph the entire senior class together. Pictures will be delivered the following day.
College Board Recognition
Shoemaker High School had four students earn academic honors from the College Board National Recognition Programs. These National Recognition Programs grant underrepresented students with academic honors that can be included on college and scholarship applications and connect students with universities across the country, helping them meaningfully connect to colleges and stand out during the admissions process. Colleges and scholarship programs identify students awarded National African American, Hispanic, Indigenous and/or Rural/Small Town Recognition through College Board’s Student Search Service.
