BWMS Family Update

BWMS Parents and Community,

I would like to thank the students and staff for their flexibility and encouragement during our annual service day. There was much joy at our school after students returned from serving the community. No act of service, no matter how small is ever wasted. I'd say that was a great day!

100% of staff and students showed great effort and generosity to support our greater Big Walnut Community at 50+ sites totaling over 2100 hours of support. Truly SOARing Students - ones that choose to go above and beyond expectations. I want to thank our Principal Leadership Team for helping plan such an event. I also would like to thank our staff for believing in such a day and commitment to modeling service each and every day of the year. Finally, I want to thank the community and parents for encouraging our students to be involved citizens with a heart for service and a mind which thinks of others. Great job BWMS!

Special Shout Out to our wonderful BWMS PTO for fantastic Staff Appreciation Week. The adults at BWMS felt the love and appreciation this week.

• The Spring Concert for Band/Choir/Orchestra is on Tuesday 5/14/24 at our High School.
  
• The Spring Musical Theater Performance is Wednesday 5/15/24 at our High School.
• BWMS will host an 8th grade only dance on Thursday 5/16/24 from 2:30-4:30 after school. Cost is $5 at the door.
• Incoming 6th grade parent orientation will be at 6:00 PM on Thursday 5/16/24. Incoming 7th grade parent orientation will be at 7:00 PM on Thursday 5/16/24. This event will be in our Auditorium.
• SOAR Day will be Friday 5/17/24.
• The luggage check for the 8th grade DC Trip is Sunday 5-19-24 from 4:00-5:30 at BWMS. Also, please note that all medications need to be brought at this time.
• 8th grade trips for Ohio and DC are on 5-20-24 through 5-23-24. As a reminder, all school fees need to be paid in order to participate in the trips.
• The last day for students is on Thursday 5/23/24. We will follow a two hour early release schedule for this day.
