Dear Cirby Families,
I hope this message finds you refreshed and rejuvenated after a wonderful Spring Break! As we dive back into the rhythm of school life, I want to extend my gratitude to each and every one of you for your continued support and dedication to our school community. Our collective efforts truly make Cirby a special place for our students to learn, grow, and thrive.
Looking ahead, we have an exciting lineup of events and activities planned for the coming months. From more musicals to several field trips, there will be plenty of opportunities for our students to showcase their talents and passions. Our classes in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade will also be taking the CAASPP Test at the end of April into the middle of May. There will be more information on this in the next newsletter.
On Monday, April 8th, there will be a total solar eclipse. We must take necessary precautions to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Looking directly at the sun during an eclipse can cause permanent eye damage, so it is crucial to use proper eye protection. Thanks to our PTC, we have purchased eclipse glasses for our Cirby students. The eclipse is scheduled to occur from 10:18am - 12:18pm. Teachers will take their classes out to experience the eclipse while wearing the protective glasses. Due to the timing, the eclipse is scheduled to occur during our lunch and lunch recess. We will be having an indoor lunch recess that afternoon.
Please look for our family survey coming out TODAY. We always appreciate the feedback and truly care about the information we receive from all of our stakeholders. Please complete the survey at your earliest convenience and be sure to email your confirmation to be entered into a raffle for a $50 gas card and other incentives for your child. Directions will be provided in the message along with the link to the survey. Please call the office if you have any questions.
Thank you once again for your continued partnership in your child's education. Together, we can make this spring semester a truly memorable and enriching experience for all.
Wishing you a fantastic return to school!
Warmly,
Farah Friend | Principal

Staff Spotlight 📣
Howdy Cirby Families! I am Ms. Christy and this is my family! This is my 3rd year here at Cirby as MDS! I have 2 children who are Cirby Eagles. My son Jose Isidro Jr. is now an 8th grader at Eich Middle School and my daughter Myla is a 5th grader here at Cirby! We love spontaneous trips to the beach and visiting our old town in Yerington Nevada! You can find us at Folsom Lake on the warm Summer days!
I have enjoyed watching the students grow these last few years and hope to continue to build and grow with my Cirby Family!
PTC Corner
PBIS Corner
Cirby School prides itself on our PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports) system. We wanted to start this PBIS Corner in the newsletter so you get a better understanding about what it is, how we use it, and give you an opportunity to see how it’s working.
Cirby’s staff, students, parents, and our community work together to create a positive learning environment. Last year, we earned the highest level of recognition from Placer County, which is a Platinum PBIS school. We will be receiving recognition later this month at an awards ceremony. Check out our banners in the office when you come by. Let’s keep working hard to earn Platinum again this year!
Let’s continue to work together to remind all Cirby eagles to follow our 3 expectations: Show Respect, Make Good Decisions, and Solve Problems.
