WELCOME BACK JET FAMILIES!

Hello Jet Families!

We are so excited that school is back in session and things are in full swing! We would like to extend a special welcome to all of our new Jets! We are SO GLAD you are at MCE! We hope your transition has been positive and that you grow to love life as a Midwest City Elementary Jet!!

The first few days of school have been spent learning routines and procedures. Our Jets are rocking it and we are so proud of them. We are grateful to know that our parents are reinforcing this positive behavior at home. We are excited to watch our Jets blossom this year.

We will be hosting our parent information night on Tuesday, August 27th from 5-6:45pm. Please reference the flyer below for more information. You will hear valuable information about our school and from our grade level teachers that will help your student be successful this school year.

Just a few reminders....

1. STUDENTS MAY NOT BE DROPPED OFF BEFORE 8:30AM if they are not eating breakfast. If they are having breakfast, they may enter through the cafeteria at 8:20am.

2. Students who are tardy, MUST be accompanied into the school office to be checked in.

3. All parents/guardians must have their car tag displayed during dismissal. Parents must stay in their cars. PLEASE DO NOT WALK UP TO GET YOUR STUDENT IN THE FRONT OR KINDERGARTEN LOOK.

4. During arrival, we strongly encourage you to begin letting your child walk to class on their own beginning this week. We have staff all along the way and will ensure their safe arrival. If you do choose to walk with your child, you will need to bring your ID and sign into our safe-id system each day, located in the lobby of the school.

The MCE staff is so excited for this year and we have amazing things planned for your children! We have high expectations for learning and believe that every child can succeed at high levels! When we talk about the "Jet Family" that includes you! We 100% believe that family partnerships are vital to student success! We are excited to be a part of your child's educational journey and we are looking forward to a great year!

Please make sure your child is getting to school on time everyday! Please make sure your child is getting to school on time everyday! We start our instructional day right away at 9:00am! In a couple of weeks, we will begin our school-wide intervention & enrichment time at 9:15am. This is a very important time of day when your child receives targeted, individualized instruction based on their academic needs. We need students in class on time! Remember, three tardies OR three early check-outs equal an absence! Also, limit check-outs close to dismissal time. If we see this becomes consistent with your child, you will be contacted by an administrator.
