The Weekly Update #4

This is a reminder that students are not allowed to go to the parking lot or leave school during the day without permission. Your safety is our priority. During lunch, students should be in the cafeteria or The Commons area. Consequences for not following this rule may include suspension. Parents, please revisit this information with your students. Our partnership with you is crucial in keeping our students safe and where they should be.

Many of our Astronomy students were inspired when we watched the Live rocket

launch of a Russian led team of two Russian Cosmonauts and one American

Astronaut a week or so ago. Many students went out to observe the ISS

(International Space Station) as it passed over Irmo and noted that the three men

they watched launch earlier in the day were now on the ISS.

Also, several students have gone out on their own at night to observe different

phases of the moon and have come back with photos they took through a

Keep Looking Up!

Students in Mrs Harrington’s Theatre classes have been created costume and set designs for Moana Jr. Theatre 3-5HN created costume and set designs that Theatre 1-2 have been working to develop from their renderings come see Moana Jr. Wednesday, October 23 and Thursday, October 24 at 6:30pm to see all of their hard work on stage

Meet after school on Zoom, once per month between February and May.

Give us feedback on how we can improve BigFuture to help more students.

May ask you to post flyers, make an announcement, or try other ways to share BigFuture.

BigFuture® School is a mobile app available to students who take the PSAT/NMSQT®, PSAT™ 10, or SAT® on a school day. In the app, students can view their scores, get customized college and career guidance, and connect with institutions.

Reminder: Your chromebook must be in its case for you to receive a loaner. Please do not place stickers on the device; it is school property.

Students are invited to join National Honor Society if they are a junior or senior with a GPA of 4.0 or higher. Applications for eligible juniors and seniors were sent to students' school email on Monday, September 9th. The initial application forms are due to Mrs. Thur (via Google Forms) by October 7th at 8 am. Please email Jessica Thur (jgthur@lexrich5.org) with questions.
