A Message from the Director...
I just wanted to express my gratitude and say a big THANK YOU to all our Ford Tech teachers. They go above and beyond for their students, and I am constantly impressed by their level of passion, energy, and commitment to our programs. Our teachers make our building one of the most magical places to be, and the outcomes they produce are absolutely unbelievable. They uniquely demonstrate what excellent teaching and learning should look like. I am honestly one of the luckiest administrators to have such an amazing staff!

WBL Spotlight: Digital Photography & Media
Digital Photography and Media students have been actively engaged in Work-Based Learning at WWCSD's Print Shop. Under the supervision of Nick and Dan, students are enhancing their graphic design and printing skills. Through these Work-Based Learning placements, students are not only refining their technical skills but also practicing essential employability skills and professional conduct.
This group of interns has received stellar feedback on their work ethic. Their supervisor, Nick Applebee, remarked, "They are helpful, humorous, hardworking, and have been an absolute pleasure to have around. We truly appreciate the quality of work they have delivered."
Students: Autumn Belleville, Javion Gibson, Amirah Junious, Shania Smith
Future Educators-Signing Day
In front of a room filled with educators, district administrators and parents, 11 high school seniors were celebrated as they ceremoniously signed their declarations of intent. These students are not just announcing which school they will attend — they are committing to becoming future teachers and studying education in college. #MIDay4ED @Michigan FCCLA
Congratulations to the next generation of educators starting their journey!
Thunderbird Club Visit Career Tech
We were very excited to have a visit from the Thunderbird Club on 5/6/2024. Owners of some beautiful vintage Ford Thunderbirds travelled to William D. Ford Career-Tech Center to share the history of these beautiful cars with our students. Mr. Holland from Automotive Collision and Mr. Batko from Automotive Technology brought their interested students outside to look over the array of historical cars. We want to thank Mr. Barry Burnham from The Thunderbird Club for coordinating this event with Ms. Beck. They just don't build 'em like that anymore!

Wayne-Westland Attendance Policy
Wayne-Westland Attendance Policy:
District Policy:
Wayne-Westland Schools prioritizes student attendance, student safety, and student support. Our District has implemented a comprehensive attendance policy that will identify barriers families face and provide support so that they may attend school regularly. Working with our community partners, our goal is to reduce chronic absenteeism at all grade levels.
Additional details regarding the policy can be found here:
https://www.wwcsd.net/departments/administrative-services/student-services/#Attendance
Family Resource Center (FRC)
Wayne-Westland Community Schools has a Family Resource Center (FRC), which provides services to any student/family enrolled in our District, free of cost. Some of the services they provide are: basic need assistance, access to over 700 local resources, Laundry Assistance Program and material items for those unable to afford them (emergency toiletries, socks/underwear, hats/gloves/scarves, etc.). They are also able to provide school supplies and backpacks year round for any WWCS student. Please contact our Family Resource Center at: 734-419-2709 or FRC@wwcsd.net. Our FRC also has a Digital Request for Services Form, which can be used to request assistance. Please contact the Family Resource Center directly with any additional questions regarding their services.
Take Charge of Your Internet: To ensure all students have the access they need, the State of Michigan is conducting a Broadband Mapping Challenge, which can help secure federal funds to expand quality broadband to homes in our district. Michigan residents can visit the website to check the map for their home address and submit necessary corrections to the state internet map. This program may be the best opportunity to get all of our students and families online. Link to PDF
