Hello Walden Families!
It was a beautiful week at Walden School! Ann Pasquesi and I enjoyed welcoming over 50 parents to Walden on Tuesday evening to discuss the themes in the Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt. We had great conversations and parents in attendance generated a thoughtful list of ideas that we can do to create a healthier childhood experience for our community. I will share this list in a separate email. I really enjoyed our time together and look forward to continuing the conversation.
As a reminder, there is no school next Thursday, October 3rd.

Save the (tentative) date!
Please join us on October 29th at 6:30pm at Caruso Middle School for a screening of the documentary, Chasing Childhood. This is a 2020 film that promotes the "free play" movement for children. This film is a great next step for families who are curious about learning more about the ideas in the Anxious Generation. The date/time are still tentative.
CALENDAR ALERT: Day of school added on Monday, March 3, 2025 (2nd Posting)
Due to the unexpected cancellation of school following the recent storms on August 28, 2024, DPS 109 will have to make up that day of school on Monday, March 3rd, 2025. The Board of Education just approved the calendar change last night and it has been updated on our website today. Please plan accordingly.
