The Weekly Wave
Principal's Corner 12.6.2024
Laker Families,
As we move into December, we want to share a few key reminders and updates:
Attendance Matters!
There are only 10 academic days left in December and 20 school days left in Semester 1. Attendance is critical to student success, and as mentioned in last week’s newsletter, we’ve noticed a slight increase in chronic absenteeism (less than 90% attendance) compared to last year. Each day in school makes a difference! Please help us ensure your student is here and engaged.Holiday Concerts – Don’t Miss These Events!
- Sunday, December 15th at 7:00 PM: Jazz Band Holiday Concert in the Lakeshirts Field House
- Monday, December 16th at 7:00 PM: DLHS Holiday Band & Choir Concert, also in the Lakeshirts Field House
Join us in celebrating the season with incredible performances by our talented students!
Semester 1 Check-In
With only 20 days left in the semester, now is a perfect time to review grades and check in with your student. We’re committed to helping every Laker succeed, and our staff is working hard to support students who may be struggling. If adjustments or extra support are needed, now is the time to act!
Thank you for your continued partnership as we work together to help all Lakers finish 2024 strong!
Go Lakers!

Communicates well and is very attentive with everyone she
works with.
Laker Production Collaboration
Collaboration is thriving at DLHS! Mr. Jorgenson's graphic print class teamed up with Ms. Mitchell's metals class to create these amazing signs. A big thank you to BTD for donating the metal!
