Attendance Matters
Dear Bailey Elementary Families,
We are excited about the school year and want to start off strong by encouraging students to be at school and on-time every day for the entire 2022-2023 school year. Student attendance is an essential component to a student’s academic success.
With the hope of maintaining our new normal, the expectations at Bailey Elementary is for all students to be at school, unless the reason is considered an excused absence per board policy. For information regarding an excused absence please refer to the student handbook or the NCPS website.
The North Carolina Compulsory Attendance Law states that students should have no more than 10 unexcused days of school. Legal action can be taken against you, in accordance to the attendance law (G.S.115C-378).
Please help support your child, their teachers, and the school, by making attendance a priority and ensuring they are at school.
ATTENDANCE MATTERS. ALL DAY. EVERYDAY.
Sincerely,
Justin Sweet, Social Worker
