NEW Donate Life Walk Registration
This year, with help from the NEW Donate Life Student Leadership Committee, we will be hosting our 13th annual NorthEast Wisconsin Donate Life Walk and Silent Auction on Saturday, April 12th. Our mission is to raise awareness for the need for organ donation. We do this through a walk and silent auction every April, which is National Donate Life month and we hope you can help!
Many people in our district have been affected by organ transplantation and donation. Gail Burant’s son, Ethan, had a life-saving liver transplant in 2010 and her dad, who passed away in March 2023, was a donor. Mary Swinford’s brother, Lonnie, who passed away at the early age of 39, was a donor. Eve Wozniak's husband Brent is also an organ recipient and current BP student Lauren Wolfe is an organ recipient. You can read their stories by clicking on their names or read them in person in our Gift of Life Garden Walk on Saturday April 12th, doors open 8am at Bay View Middle School.
Here are some ways that you might consider helping:
1. Register a team of family & friends to walk together on April 12th. Here is the link for registration: https://howard-suamicoschools.revtrak.net/bv/#/f/BV-NEW-Donate-Life-Walk
2. Like us on Facebook and share the information about the walk: https://www.facebook.com/newdonatelifewalk/
3. Donate a silent auction item(s). If you are able to do this, let us know at newdonatelife@gmail.com or contact Gail Burant at Bay View (gailbura@hssdschools.org ). If your family and friends own a business, and you think they might like to donate, our business donation letter is linked here.
4. Read more inspiring stories of hope of our past walk Grand Marshals here.
5. Share your own organ donation or transplantation story with us to be included in our Gift of Life Garden Walk. This can be an emotional task, so if you need assistance in telling your story, please notify us!
Whatever way you can help, we appreciate you!!
Thank you, Gail Burant & Mary Swinford

“Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. The people we trust with that important talk can help us know that we are not alone.”
