Parents, All students will have their individual pictures taken in our cafeteria on Monday Oct 14 for our yearbook. We will have a grab and go lunch on this day and students will be eating in their classrooms. We ask for no parents tp come in and eat lunch with their kids on this date.
Here are directions on how to place orders for student pictures with Lifetouch Photography
The flyers that were sent home with students will direct parents to go to the LINK https://my.photoday.com/s/LTBW/226760 and sign up to receive notifications from My.PhotoDay.com when the child's images are uploaded and the students gallery of pictures is ready to view/order.
Once logged into the site It also gives Parents the option to purchase an Advance Pay credit of $35 or more which will grant them free shipping.
Once parents review their student's gallery of images and place their order all picture packages will ship to the parents' home address.

Raise Craze Updates
Raise Craze Fundraiser: We are halfway through our fundraiser and WOW! We are feeling the love over here! So far, as of Friday October 11th, we have raised $23,309 in donations and there are 916 AOKs logged! That is so amazing!
Keep looking out for Facebook posts and emails from your student’s teacher with updates! Not getting updates? Please email your teacher. There is still time to help your student’s class win some incentives & to help them win the grand prize! The classroom with the highest amount of donations will win a free session from Scaly Tails! The classroom with the highest amount of AOKs logged will win the opportunity to slime Principal Hart!

We are hoping to raise $50,000. We are hoping to log 3,250 Acts of Kindness schoolwide.
We have created a graphic to help families better understand exactly what the PTA funds for the school and why we raise this money every year. All donations directly benefit all our students and teachers, enabling us to provide essential programs and support throughout the year. Together, we can ensure that Spring Run Elementary continues to be a place where our students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Thank you so much for your support!
Service Night: Join us on Thursday, October 17th from 6pm-8pm at the school, as we host our Service Night to go along with Raise Craze. Bring your student(s) here to help them give back to the community in this unique way! We will be writing positive messages, accepting & organizing donations, grounds clean up, and a few more activities. It is a night of service to our community! Once you head back home, go online with your student and help them log the AOKs!

Service Night is on Thursday, 10/17 from 6pm-8pm at SRES. We are still in need of some volunteers, if you plan on helping, please sign up at the link below. I wanted to reach out directly to some reliable PTA volunteers, thank you all so much for all your help already this year. It takes a village.

Gifted Referrals Students in Grades 2-5
For families with students in grades 2nd-5th, if you want to refer your child for gifted testing, please use this link. The deadline for referrals is Friday, October 25th, and no referrals will be accepted after the deadline. For families of K-1 students, you will be able to submit gifted referrals in February.
Grade 3-5 Parent Fall VA Growth Assessment Reports
Beginning October 2nd, you will be able to review certain test results from your student’s Fall Virginia Growth Assessment via ParentVUE. To view overall scores, log into ParentVUE and click the “Test History” tab.
You will also be able to view instructions for accessing the Virginia Department of Education parent portal in ParentVUE. Click on the “Documents” tab for instructions and an individual claim code that will grant access to the VDOE parent portal.
When parents log in to the VDOE Parent Portal they will have access to the VDOE Parent report, scores from the fall growth assessments, any previous scores that were claimed, and Student Detail by Question reports for fall growth tests. Scores and the Parent Portal letters will only be available for students who participated in the fall growth assessment.

PTA School Wide Reflections Art Contest Now Open
Free Tutoring for Students in Grades 3-12
Free online tutoring is available for students in grades 3-12 via Stride Tutoring.
Students can reserve time for online video meetings with tutors licensed in subject areas in which they need additional support. Students do not need a teacher referral or recommendation and there are no fees for families.
To access Stride Tutoring, students along with their families should go to the backpack icon on the RapidIdentity dashboard using their CCPS-issued Chromebook. Click the Stride Tutoring icon under the “District Applications” heading. No additional login credentials are required.
Stride tutors are certified teachers who develop instruction to help students succeed. Tutoring sessions may be scheduled for any subject/topic/concept where additional instruction is needed. Students may share materials from class and representations of their work to help the tutor best align the session with the work being done in the classroom.
At this time, there is no limit to the number of tutoring sessions a student may use. Additional information, including FAQ and a quick-start guide for logging on to the Stride platform, is available at oneccps.org/tutors.
To provide this service, Chesterfield County Public Schools is using funds available through the Virginia Department of Education’s ALL In initiative as well as other funding sources. Free tutoring will be open to students as long as funds are available.

VA Learning Acceleration Grant
Your student is eligible to receive additional reading support/tutoring from your child’s school
that will be purchased through Virginia’s Learning Acceleration Grant (LAG) program that is
being offered by the Virginia Department of Education. While the LAG program is no longer
open to individual students and families, your school division can purchase additional reading
supports on your child’s behalf through the grant. There is nothing additional that you need to
do for your student to receive additional reading support/tutoring through this program. Please
contact your child’s school if you have any additional questions about the reading
support/tutoring your student is receiving through the LAG program.
If you do not want your child to participate or receive the additional reading support through
the LAG program, then please fill out the information below to opt out and return it to your
child’s school.
Only sign and return this form if you want your student OPTED OUT of receiving the
additional reading support/tutoring through the Virginia Learning Acceleration Grant
program. Email the form to LAGgrant_opt-out@ccpsnet.net. If you want your child to receive

Club 3:16 Information

What is Club 3:16?
Started by students in the spring of 2022, Club 3:16 is a place for students grades 3-5th to meet and greet with others who are interested in exploring and growing their faith in Jesus. 3:16 was named by students after the scripture passage John 3:16.
What do we do at Club 3:16? At this club you’ll meet new people, sing songs, play some team games and hear a message about faith that you’ll get to talk about with other students.
How can I attend Club 3:16? If you’re interested in Club 3:16 you can fill out the permission slip in the weekly school parent newsletter. You can attend all or just some of the meetings!

Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe
These school wide expectations are modeled and taught by your child's teacher in class, by our counselors when they teach lessons in classrooms, by our administrative team when they visit classrooms and via our AM Husky News Program broadcast in every classroom.
Promote Respect
Promote Respect is how our school division educates parents, staff and students about bullying prevention. It is a year-long program that focuses on proactive and positive interventions to teach expectations of respect and provides opportunities for students to practice those skills and make it a part of their daily routine.
The program uses consistent language to identify what respect looks like and sounds like, starting with the description of respect of self, respect of property and respect between peers and generations. It also outlines procedures to report, investigate and intervene when bullying behavior occurs.
What is bullying?
Bullying is defined as any aggressive and unwanted behavior that is intended to harm, intimidate or humiliate the victim; involves a real or perceived power imbalance between the aggressor or aggressors and target; and is repeated over time or causes severe emotional trauma. Bullying includes cyber bullying. Bullying does not include ordinary teasing, horseplay, argument or peer conflict.
What happens when bullying is reported through the Promote Respect form?
Reports about potential bullying incidents can come from multiple sources including students, teachers, administrators, counselors and family members. Reports can be made in person or anonymously using a paper or electronic report form. Reporters are encouraged — but not required — to identify themselves so staff can conduct the appropriate follow up. Every school has two adults identified as leads for Promote Respect. These school-based adults ensure the systems and practices are in place to address bullying concerns. When a report is made, designated adults are alerted and follow a protocol to investigate and remediate the concern.
About the program
Promote Respect was developed using research-based practices and it fulfills the state mandate requiring each school board to implement policy and procedures to educate stakeholders about bullying to create a respectful school climate free of bullying. Staff receive proactive training in ways to prevent and intervene in bullying situations and students are educated about preventing and reporting bullying behavior. Each school has a Promote Respect committee that works to reinforce the program within their school throughout the year. Schools continuously monitor data and assess areas of need in order to make any needed changes to promote positive school climate

New Student Attendance Google Form
We have developed a new online student absence reporting form. If/when your child will be absent from school you can complete this simple online form instead of calling and reporting your child's absence to the office. When a parent completes this form it sends a notification to the main office so the attendance secretary can record your child's absence in our Synergy student database. We hope you will find this new tool useful and helpful in reporting your child's absences.

CCPS Hiring Substitutes: If you’re looking for a flexible schedule so you can work when you choose, then consider applying to become a substitute teacher. Chesterfield County Public Schools pays substitute teachers $136 on regular days and $203 on Fridays and high-demand days.
Requirements to work as a substitute teacher include:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Hold a high school diploma or a GED certificate.
- Have two years of work experience with children (paid or unpaid) or have at least 60 college credit hours.
- To work as a long-term sub, at least 60 college credit hours are required and a bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Now is a great time to download the Chesterfield County Public Schools mobile app. It connects with school websites, so there will always be something new to view. Interested in volunteering this year? You will need to submit an application to CCPS as a volunteer which goes through a central approval process that includes a background check. This could take two to four weeks, so be sure to allow ample time for your application to be reviewed before you plan to volunteer.
