U.S. Army Honors Basketball Coach Corby Schuh
On May 22, Marysville Getchell Boys Basketball Coach Mr. Corby Schuh was presented with an award from the United States Army! Corby Schuh was recognized for his hard work and dedication to student-athletes by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) for their #SalutetoCoaches campaign, presented by the U.S. Army. Local representatives of the Army were in attendance to present Corby with this award at the school-wide assembly.
The campaign post read: "Corby has created an atmosphere of integrity. Not only does he create a community of young athletes that are respectful, but also supports his community with different events to engage players of all levels." The post continues, "He personifies many qualities of the U.S. Army values and helps his players achieve those values as well." Congratulations, Coach Schuh, for this prestigious recognition and award!
Annual Life Skills Prom at MGHS
Dinner was provided to students by the Leah's Dream Foundation. The Marysville Getchell Native American and Friends Club (NAFC) helped serve dinner. Thank you to everyone involved in creating and coordinating this awesome, fun event for our students!

Congratulations to all the PTA/PTSAs listed above for membership growth this school year! These school PTA/PTSAs were recently awarded for their success at the 111th Annual Washington State PTA (WSPTA) Convention May 17-19 in Lynnwood, WA.
3rd Grade Shoultes Hero Dials 9-1-1 After Teacher's Medical Emergency
On May 21st, Shoultes Elementary 3rd grade student Cormac Booth sprung into action and dialed 9-1-1 after his teacher had a sudden medical emergency. Thanks to Cormac's quick thinking, his teacher received the needed care. He and his classmates look forward to seeing their teacher return soon.
Cormac was awarded certificates from Principal Brian Tinsley of Shoultes Elementary and Marysville Fire District Battalion Chief Hale for the heroic action. Principal Tinsley also shared how proud he was of Cormac and the entire class for their actions during this time.
MGHS's Jackson Schei Headed to National Competition with Everett Rowing Assoc.
Marysville Getchell freshman Jackson Schei will soon represent Marysville nationally after his success this past weekend with the Everett Rowing Association Varsity Team. Jackson is the only student-athlete on the team from Marysville. His team medaled at the USRowing Northwest Youth Regional Championships in Vancouver, Washington, competing against rowing clubs from all around Washington and Oregon.
The team is heading to the 2024 USRowing Youth National Championships in Sarasota, Florida on June 6-9. The District wishes Jackson and his team the best of luck at this national competition. Way to go, Jackson!
District Secondary Schools Choir and Jazz Concerts
On May 21st, jazz bands from Marysville Pilchuck, Marysville Getchell, Cedarcrest Middle School, and Totem Middle School performed at the MPHS Auditorium for families and community members. Click the link above to watch the full concert.
On May 17th the annual Marysville School District Secondary Choir Concert featured choirs from several secondary schools within the District, including those from Marysville Getchell High School, Cedarcrest Middle School, and Totem Middle School. Click the link below to watch the full concert.
These district-wide choir and jazz concerts are an excellent opportunity for students of various ages across the District to join together. We are so proud of our talented choir and jazz band students!
