Spirit Week 03/25-3/29
Happy Spring, incredible SMS families!
I am once again looking to your generosity to help make SMS Staff Appreciation Week an amazing success, and I know you'll help make it happen! Last year we treated the staff to lunches, breakfasts, mailbox treats, and dozens of raffle prizes, all because of the generosity of SMS families and local businesses; let's do it again and make it even bigger and better!
As you may know, this is my final year chairing SMS Staff Appreciation Week, as my younger daughter is in 8th grade. It has been my absolute pleasure to help organize this venture for six years, but I couldn't have done it without loads of help from SMS families along the way, so thank you! This year I have a new co-chair, Maureen Greene, who has a 4th and a 6th grader, so she's learning the ropes and is looking forward to carrying on the tradition of treating our incredibly deserving SMS Staff.
Please reach out with any questions to mom2heflmf@yahoo.com or 207-664-3211.
Thank you,
Kim French, Parent Co-Chair of the SMS Staff Appreciation Event

Red Storm Strikes out Cancer Staff vs Student Basketball Game!
The annual staff vs student basketball game to support Red Storm Strikes out Cancer is back! The 8th grade girls and boys basketball teams will be playing a team of staff all-stars on Thursday, March 28 at the High School. The girls game begins at 6:00 and the boys game will begin at approximately 7:00. Admission is only $5.00. Red Storm Strikes out Cancer t-shirts and food drinks will be sold. Please come support this amazing cause! We Will Find a Cure!
Race 2 The Point
We have been watching the weather closely and we really thought we could make it happen. Unfortunately, the snow totals keep increasing and with runners going out onto Pine Point Rd we have made the difficult decision to POSTPONE the race.
This is a family friendly event focused on the kids running too and we want to ensure that everyone is safe.
Our race timer does have some availability in April, so the goal is to reschedule soon so that spring sports are not impacted. We will work to get the new date set up as soon as possible and let you know.
Thank you for your support!!

For Planned Absences (a day out of school which is not illness or medical appointment related), families should fill out the Scarborough Middle School Planned Absence form, which is found here.
For questions about attendance, please contact the Scarborough Middle School main office at 207-730-4800 or email us at msoffice@scarboroughschools.org
