Dear Brahma Family,
On Thursday, we will host our annual Back to School Night. There is more information below and a link on our school’s webpage at DBHS.org to a special newsletter about Back to School Night. It includes a blank template that you can print out and use to write out your student’s schedule for Thursday evening. During the evening, parents may follow their child's schedule to meet their teachers and get a sense of their everyday high school experience. Each period, every teacher will present a 10-minute lesson where they will provide information about the course content, policies, and procedures for the class. We are also happy to report that you will no longer have to trudge up and down the stairs to the classrooms in Downtown DB!
Prior to the start of Back to School Night, the Pathways Communication Academy will meet at 6:30 pm in Room 351, and the English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) will meet at 6:00 p.m. in Room 457.
Throughout the event, Mr. Thomas, our Technology Coordinator, will be stationed in the Library to provide any needed assistance to parents and students with their school-issued technology, including matters related to Parent Portal, Chromebooks, or passwords.
The Back to School Night program will kick off with a brief introduction in the Quad at 6:45 p.m. Zero period presentations will begin at 7:00 p.m. and first period presentations will begin at 7:18 p.m. Sixth period presentations will wrap up at 8:58 p.m.
Representatives from our Magnificent 7 Parent Organizations will be available in the Quad to discuss membership opportunities and answer questions from interested parents. Our Magnificent 7 Parent Organizations, include: Brahma Boosters, Brahma Foundation, Chinese American Parent Association (CAPA), Council of African American Parents (CAAP), Hispanic Organization of Parents and Education (HOPE), Korean American Parent Association (KAPA), and South Asian Parent Association (SAPA).
Our USB students will also be out on campus to help everyone find their way, look for them in their signature purple-striped polo shirts. We hope you will join us in this celebration of the beginning of the school year!
