ABOUT THE:
Educational Programs & Operations (EPO) Replacement Levy:
The Mary Walker School District (MWSD) relies on the Educational Programs and Operations (EPO) Replacement Levy to sustain essential staffing, programs, and activities that are not fully funded by state or federal dollars. This levy directly supports the quality of teaching and learning, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for all students. Programs funded by the levy include athletics, arts, student support services, special education, technology, and other resources critical to student success. For more than 24 years, MWSD has maintained a voter-approved EPO levy, and in 2021, voters approved a four-year levy to continue these essential services.
On February 11, 2025, MWSD will ask voters to renew this existing levy—not to approve a new tax. The renewal maintains the levy rate at an estimated $1.50 per $1,000 of assessed property value, one of the lowest levy rates in the region. Additionally, an approved levy qualifies MWSD for additional Local Effort Assistance (LEA) funding from the state, maximizing support for students and programs. This renewal is vital to sustaining the programs and opportunities that help students thrive, and we encourage your continued support to ensure a bright future for every Charger student.

Building a Brighter Future:
MWSD's Vision for Early Childhood Education and community daycare
A Vision for Early Learning and Community Support:
Mary Walker School District (MWSD) is excited to share a vision for the future: building a new Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP) center to support our youngest learners and their families. This project is still in the planning stages, but we believe it’s possible with community support, state grants, and careful use of district funds. The center would combine ECEAP and the Springdale Preschool in one location, creating a hub for early learning that prepares children for kindergarten and future success.
The facility would also include much-needed daycare services, offering before- and after-school care, as well as year-round childcare for families in the Springdale area. This would be a huge benefit to working families and strengthen our entire community. While this vision depends on securing funding and passing the EP&O Levy, we are confident that, together, we can make it a reality, improving opportunities for children and families for years to come (Please note: This image is for visual purposes only).
