GMS WEEKLY NEWSLETTER APRIL19, 2024
Happy Friday Wolf Pack Families!
PSAT 8 is officially in the books. Thank you for having your 8th grade student in the building and ready to show what they know! This year the PSAT was done online and I want to thank our teaching staff and Mrs. Rutherford, Testing Coordinator, for doing such a fabulous job of organizing/proctoring the exam.
On Monday and Thursday of next week ALL students will be taking the M-STEP. It is really important that ALL students who are feeling well attend school on those days. The M-STEP is a required assessment for all students who attend a Michigan public school. There are a lot of details below about how to best prepare your student for the M-STEP.
Don't forget that we have a half day for students on 4/23 so our teaching staff can be engaged in Professional Development focused on improving instruction and learning.
Wishing you all a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Stuart Riley
Principal, Geisler Middle School

M-STEP TESTING-ALL GRADE LEVELS
All students will be taking M-STEP Monday, April 22nd and Thursday, April 25th. 6th and 7th grade students will take English and math while 8th grade students will take science and social studies.
Students should bring a fully charged district Chromebook and a pair of wired headphones. If your student currently uses their own personal device, a district one will be provided for the day of testing. If your student does not have a pair of wired, non-Bluetooth headphones, extras will be available to borrow.
Students should do their best and show what they know but not stress over the testing. We strongly encourage students to be present the mornings of the 22nd and 25th as those students absent will have to miss class time to complete testing during the end of April and beginning of May.

Sports Update
Track season is off to a great start! The track team competed in their first meet on Thursday against Muir middle school. They fought hard, but both teams lost.
