HMS MUSICIANS MEET PRO MUSICIANS
The Heritage Middle School Select Chorus and Chamber Orchestra recently experienced the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, Montclair State University Singers, and soloists perform Beethoven's Ninth Symphony at NJPAC. It was a performance of epic proportions! After the performance, students were able to have a meet and greet with violinist JoAnna Farrer (pictured) and baritone soloist, Reginald Smith, Jr.
LHS HISTORY BOWL TEAM WINS 4TH NATIONAL TITLE
The Livingston High School History Bowl team, advised by Guy Rabner and Brynn Smith,
attended the International Academic Competitions National Tournament in Arlington, VA last
weekend. They prepared all year for the tournament, and the students' hard work paid off!
Out of 96 teams, the LHS Varsity team won the National History Bowl competition with an undefeated record. It is the fourth year LHS has brought home a History Bowl national title!
One of the LHS freshmen teams also made it to the JV playoffs, ending the tournament in ninth place and students also performed impressively in individual competitions. Of the 11 students who
competed in the History Bee, 9 made it to the playoffs. Senior Robert Wang won the National
History Bee competition, taking home the national title for the fourth year in a row. This was the
first time a student had done this in the tournament's history! Freshman Aiden Saju also made it
to the JV finals for History Bee, finishing the tournament in tenth place.
Beyond the History Bee and Bowl, LHS students competed in various other competitions offered throughout the weekend. Robert Wang won the National U.S. History Bee, placed second in the Geography Bee, and placed third in the Political Science Bee. Junior Jack Liu and Freshman Andrew Zhou competed in the Science Bee finals, winning fifth place in the Varsity and JV divisions. Junior
Ethan Liu made it to the semi-finals of the Geography Bee, making it to the top twenty in the country. Finally, Junior Arav Kaushikh placed ninth in the Academic Bee.
Overall, it was a wonderful weekend full of many outstanding (and record-breaking)
accomplishments!

Livingston Public Schools is proud to share that our P.R.I.D.E. (Pre-School Readiness Individual Developmental Education) Program is a full-day program with spots available for non-disabled preschool students. In this program, students will be provided with a language-rich, research-based curriculum. They will spend their days with New Jersey certified teachers, and with their disabled and non-disabled peers, to achieve the expectations of the school district’s well-designed curriculum based on New Jersey's Student Learning Standards for preschool. The students gather daily to develop social language, work as partners and in groups, and explore, play, create, share, and learn. CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE.
PROCESS FOR ADDRESSING PARENT CONCERNS
Livingston Public Schools strives to respond to concerns and/or questions as quickly and effectively as possible. In a school system, as in any organization, the “chain of command” refers to communication levels of authority in the school district. The philosophy behind the chart in the link below is to refer community members to those people in the organization who can best solve any concerns or questions that may arise, and then direct them to the appropriate people if issues are not able to be effectively addressed at the first level.
