PBIS (Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports)
SECTION 504
- RULH currently has 36 students on 504 plans attending either the high school or elementary, all of which will have been brought to compliance by September 22nd
- RULH currently has 8 students on 504's attending the career and technical center
- RULH currently has 1 student on a 504 attending a private institution
- TOTAL: 45
GIFTED
- Elementary: 10 Specific Academic (all Reading) and 2 Superior Cognitive
- High School: 6 Superior Cognitive and 12 Specific Academic (9 Reading, 3 Math)
Specific Academic is identified by NWEA MAP data, scoring in 95th or above percentile in a specific content (only math and reading are permitted to be used for identification).
Superior Cognitive is identified with the IOWA in 2nd grade or the CogAT in 4th grade.
Written Acceleration Plans (WAPs): The students enrolled in Algebra I as 8th grade students are considered "accelerated" and are part of our Gifted population. We have 17 students enrolled.
Professional Development Opportunities
- CPI (all parapros and Intervention Specialists)--August 15th
- Gifted (15 hour requirement each year)--started at district in-service, August 15th, online modules for all teachers
- "Why Try?"--August 16th and follow-up/second session on November 7th
- Book Study of Crash Course--starting in October (10 credit hours)
- Responsive Learning modules---Various online PD opportunities available to all staff throughout the school year

- Dyslexia--August 15th (K-1, TITLE and pre-trained IS's)

- PBIS Coaching, Tiers II, and Tier III--Facilitators training with refresher for all staff TBD

OTES (Ohio Teacher Evaluation System) or OSCES (Ohio School Counselor Evaluation System)
- Administrators will begin assisting teachers with forming PGP goals in the OhioES platform.
- HQSD conversations began in DLT and will continue in BLTs. Each teacher is required to list two (2) forms of HQSD in OhioES.
- Elementary School: 22 on a Full Cycle; 5 on a Skip-Year Cycle (rating carried forward)= 27 Total
- High School: 21 on a Full Cycle; 3 on a Skip-Year Cycle (rating carried forward)= 24 Total
- Wasserman: 2 on a Fuller Cycle
OTES Committee Meeting: October 2nd from 3-4 p.m. (tentatively)
CELEBRATE!!!! The elementary school is making steady gains and is currently EXCEEDING the state standards!!!
Instructional Strategies
For the last two years, the emphasis has been on improving the strategy of Gradual Release of Responsibility (GRR). The TBTs, BLT and DLT will gather input from all levels and select a second instructional strategy to implement for this year and next.
