2020 - 2021 School Year

This year marks my 26th year of teaching (can I get a WOOHOO!!!!). I have taught middle school for 22 years and elementary for 3 years. Scoggins Middle is most definitely my HOME and hopefully will soon become yours as well.

I am married to the love of my life, Chris, have one AMAZING AND WONDERFUL daughter (Lauren), two stepchildren (Lauren and Lucas) and three step grandchildren (Benton, Lincoln and Hazel). My husband is a manager at Home Depot and soon hopes to become a teacher next year. My daughter, Lauren, graduated from SPHS in 2019 and is currently working on her Vet Tech degree through Penn Foster. I have two dachshund's, Maddie and Max, that add so much joy to our lives.

Last, but not least, I have been blessed with the best family, job, co-workers, school, students and parents. I love what I do and would not trade it for anything. Somedays are better than others, but at the end of the day, there is always something to be grateful for. I love teaching, especially science, and watching the LIGHTS of learning go off in the eyes of MY students. I hope that each one of my students find the joy in learning science as much as I enjoy teaching science. I owe all I have to the graciousness of God as he continues to bless me each day. So...BE READY FOR A FANTASTIC YEAR OF LEARNING AND I PERSONALLY WELCOME YOU TO SCOGGINS MIDDLE SCHOOL. I Love you all and I haven't even met you YET!!

Of course, my favorite interest is teaching!!! I also love to work in the yard, read my bible, cook endless meals, listen to music, exercise (walking), ride bikes, swim, lay out in the sun, spend time with my family, go to football games (my favorite sport) and grill out. I am an over the top GEORGIA BULLDOG FAN, love almost all types of music (classic rock, country, and christian), and most of all, I am a CHRISTIAN.

• Labs will be conducted in class as driven by the curriculum
• New Science Terms will always be on green lime paper and usually given bi-weekly
• Parents should use Parent Portal, Infinite Canvas (IC) for accessing students grades and view any missing assignments
