Dear D11 Community,

As we launch a new school year, we are thrilled to share the ongoing work of the Design Thinking Lab and invite you to engage with us to learn more about the continued development!

What is a Design Lab?

D11’s Design Lab will engage the community in using design thinking principles and processes to collaborate and shape the future of our District.

Our vision is that the D11 Design Lab will be a hub for problem-solving and opportunity creation within our district and beyond. By pairing the human-centered approach of design thinking with the insights and strengths of our community members, we aim to tackle challenges and discover new possibilities that will elevate the educational experience at D11 for all. We invite you to be an integral part of this work.

This year, we are initiating design sprints focused on Summer Bridge, Parent, Family, and Community Engagement, Peak Experiences for students, and much more. These sprints will provide educators and community members a unique opportunity to build design thinking capacity, engage in creative, collaborative problem-solving, and actively participate in prototyping new solutions to complex problems. We want to hear from all interested stakeholders – parents, students, educators, administrators, and community members. Your perspectives are invaluable, and together, we can co-create a future that reflects the collective wisdom and aspirations of our community. Our commitment is to ensure that this process is inclusive and widespread.
