HTHS Chamber Choir Performs on WBRC FOX6
The HTHS Chamber Choir performed live on WBRC FOX6 this morning, and then spent the day at various Birmingham hospitals singing for visitors, families and patients. We are very proud of this group of talented students and the way they represent our school and community!
Cahaba's SHINE Brings Merry Music to the Community
The holiday season is a time of joy and community, and SHINE was thrilled to spread the Christmas spirit this year. Our talented young performers brought music and smiles to the Trussville Senior Center’s Christmas Brunch, St. Vincent’s East Hospital, and the Tinsel Trail and Merry Market. At the Senior Center, the choir’s voices filled the room with classic carols, creating an atmosphere of warmth and nostalgia that brought joy to everyone present. Later, at the hospital, the children’s songs lifted spirits and provided moments of peace for patients and staff alike. Finally, at the Tinsel Trail and Merry Market, SHINE’s performance added festive cheer to a bustling holiday event, delighting families and spreading seasonal joy to attendees.
There truly is nothing like the sound of children singing at Christmas to brighten hearts and spread goodwill. SHINE’s performances reminded us of the power of music to connect and uplift. We are deeply grateful to the Trussville Senior Center, St. Vincent’s East Hospital, Cahaba’s Tinsel Trail and Merry Market, and everyone who supports SHINE. May this season of harmony inspire a New Year filled with joy for all!
Carols and Cocoa Event at Magnolia
Magnolia Elementary recently held a Carols and Cocoa event. Danny Moore, music teacher, led the fourth and fifth grade choirs in many carols and invited the audience to sing along with them. Thank you to parent volunteers for serving hot cocoa and cookies to the Magnolia students and to Marc Ward for his performance. Many thanks, as well, to Mr. Moore's dad, Chris Moore, retired Alabama Exceptional Education and Music Teacher, and mom, Barbi Moore, a musician and Army Reserve Veteran, who assisted during the event. There were even special visits from the Gingerbread Man and Santa Claus! Dr. Faust held an intriguing interview with Santa, asking him questions like, "Is Magnolia on your nice list?" and "Is Rudolph your favorite reindeer?" Thankfully, Magnolia is on Santa's nice list. Adding to the excitement, were Magnolia teachers who performed a crowd-pleasing dance routine and a friendly competition of "Would You Rather?" During this game, the students voted, and the teacher who gave the most correct answers to the students' votes was the winner. This Carols and Cocoa event truly helped Magnolia get into the holiday spirit!
Paine Elementary Holiday Shop was a Fun-Filled Event for Students
Paine Elementary hosted their first ever holiday shop! Over 70 classes came and shopped for presents for their family and friends. Students were able to experience some holiday magic while they selected the perfect gifts! Paine PTO members and the amazing room moms that created the magical space were all blessed to see the joy on each students' face and their thoughtfulness in picking out presents for their families!
2nd – 5th grade students at Cahaba had the opportunity to apply for tickets to the Nutcracker Ballet at the Lyric Theater. Student applications consisted of watching segments about the history of the ballet, the writing of the plot line, and then explain why they would like to attend the ballet. 47 students were selected, and they had an amazing experience. Our students were able to watch the ballet in the beautiful Lyric theater as well as have time for a question and answer session with cast. The students prepared incredible questions and conversed wonderfully with the cast. What a great start to the holiday season!

Paine First Graders "Carol the Halls"
Mrs. McGinnis and Mrs. Paynes' first grade classes continue their tradition of caroling through the halls of Paine Elementary on the last day before Christmas break. Their tunes filled the halls with Christmas cheer!
Cahaba's Toy Drive
Our leadership team, The Voice, helped with our toy drive this year as well as our CES Dog carline helpers. As a school, we collected over 160 toys to give to the Mistletoe Market that helps families in the Trussville and Argo areas. What an amazing blessing you have been for sending toys. Thank you so much for your generosity!
