Congratulations to Ms. Dufon & The LEGO Robotics Team!
The RVES Lego Robotics team, under the leadership of advisor, Ms. Crystie Dufon capped off an amazing season by earning 1st place in their section in the mission robot event at the annual Minnesota Tournament in Victoria this weekend. This group has worked very hard (and had lots of fun) over the past couple of months to prepare and learn together. We are so proud of their dedication, teamwork, creativity, ingenuity, and commitment to excellence!
Keep Predictable Routines & A Sense Of Calm This Week
I think we are all prepared for a little extra energy in our school this week and I would like to encourage you to stick to the script as much as possible through it all. Our learners do best when there is a sense of predictability and they are able to rely on the routines they have been practicing since the first day of school. I think it will end up being good for your stress level too, to keep the focus exactly where it has been each day until now - on learning.
We can definitely recognize the fact that the holiday season is upon us, but we can't let it overtake our daily focus. And remember the fact that some of our learners are not as excited about two weeks off from the stability, safety, and sense of belonging at school as some others might be.

We will meet in the gym for some fun. There will be some fun games like Battleship, Connect 4, and More. Have a favorite? Feel free to bring it

Add CARES Student of the Month Nominations As Soon As Possible
From Nicole Felipe:
It is time to start thinking about your first Student of the Month nomination! Please select your learner and add them to our spreadsheet as soon as possible. It is greatly appreciated. We have also included prior year nominations for your reference.
In your mailbox this week, you will also find a copy of the letter that you can send home to families for your nomination; the breakfast will take place on Thursday, January 9th. We will also be sending an electronic version of this letter to families, but please feel free to communicate home as soon as you have selected your student.
Building Hours Over Break
The main office will be closed for the duration of winter break.
Folks will have fob access to the building during regular hours on weekdays during break except for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, and New Years Day. Those are district holidays and the building will be closed and armed. Please see Mr. Tom if you have specific questions pertaining to accessing the school over break.
Please Help With Simple Social Media Project Over Break
Over break, I plan to use Facebook to post pictures of our staff reading a book with the heading... "Mr./Ms. _______ is reading over break... Are you?"
If you have a chance this week or over the break to take a picture of yourself with a favorite book and send it to me, it would be greatly appreciated. You can make it as simple or creative as you would like. All Riverview staff members are invited to participate.
New Infinite Campus Log-in Procedure Starting Monday
Infinite Campus will use Microsoft Entra Single Sign-On with Microsoft Authenticator starting 12/16/24
- MFA for Infinite Campus will behave like MFA for Outlook & Skyward. No additional configuration is needed by the end user– one will just need to select the correct authentication method for accessing Infinite Campus.
- Starting Monday, December 16th, after MFA change is enabled, select the top “Microsoft Entra Single Sign-On (SSO)” authentication method.
The MFA for Infinite Campus will now use the familiar and simplified 2-digit prompt instead of the previous manual Authenticator launch, then finding and entering 6-digits in 30 seconds.
