In the webinar, Brock and Heidi Terrell located in northwest Nebraska talked about their operation and gave their perspectives on how cover crops fit their systems as well as the benefits of strip grazing cover crops in the fall. Then Mary Drewnoski reviewed the results of on-farm research at 5 locations across Nebraska over two years evaluating the value of strip grazing cover crops and discussed her observations at one site including how strip grazing pays with growing calves.

The market value of agricultural land in Nebraska increased 14% over the prior year, to an average of $3,835 per acre, according to the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s 2023 Nebraska Farm Real Estate Market Survey preliminary report. This marks the second-largest increase in the market value of agricultural land in Nebraska since 2014 and the highest non-inflation-adjusted statewide land value in the 45-year history of the survey.
