Take Back Togetherness Night

Tuesday, November 12th, 2024
Dear Avon Lake City Schools Community,
On behalf of everyone in the district, please join me in expressing our gratitude to the veterans of our country who have sacrificed in order to preserve the freedoms we as Americans enjoy to this day. Yesterday’s celebrations at various Avon Lake schools demonstrated the great pride and appreciation our administrators, staff, and students hold for those who served. Thank you to everyone who participated in those ceremonies.
Next Moves Pending the Outcome of Last Week’s Election Results
The Avon Lake City Schools’ leadership team continues to make arrangements for the important decisions that will be required in light of the outcome of last Tuesday’s election results. At present, leaders are redistricting where elementary students will attend next school year based on enrollment, geography, and minimizing impact as best as possible. These decisions must be made prior to those involving staffing. We anticipate an increase in student fees, as shared publicly, so please plan accordingly. Our intention is to have the full impact of our plan available to the public on or around February 1st, 2025, and district leadership will be open and transparent with decisions as they are made. Inherently, such plans involve difficult decisions, so thank you in advance for your patience and continued support.
Thanks to Our Supportive Businesses for Take Back Togetherness Night
Just a reminder that tomorrow night, Wednesday, November 13th will be our very first Take Back Togetherness Night, during which no school activities will be held, and no homework will be given. Our hope is that you as Avon Lake City Schools families will set aside some alone time to enjoy dinner together, unplug from technology, and positively reconnect with one another. We encourage you to consider these three establishments in town, who are helping to promote Take Back Togetherness Night with special discounts:
- Rico’s Tacos and Tequila: 20% discount off entire bill.
- Dirte Pi: buy one pizza, receive second pizza for 50% cost.
- Buffalo Wild Wings: will donate 15% of proceeds to benefit after prom.
Thank you to these businesses for your support!
I hope you enjoy your families as we take back some time together with one another!
Have a great week!
