School Board Highlights
December 10 and December 16, 2024
School Fees for 2025-2026
The Board reviewed proposed fees for the 2025-2026 school year, with final approval expected in January. Registration fees for grades 1-8 will be $300 for early bird registration if paid by May 31, 2025, and $325 if paid after that date. Fees for full day kindergarten were already approved and set at $3,500 if paid by April 4, 2025, or $3,850 if paid after that date. The community peer fee for half day early childhood was set at $4,343, and for full day early childhood the fee was set at $8,686.
Audit
The Board received the finalized Fiscal Year 2024 Audit Report. Each year, District 103 conducts an independent audit to evaluate internal controls, compliance, and financial reporting in accordance with government auditing standards. Strategic Business Solutions of McHenry, which conducted the audit, confirmed that the district’s financial statements comply with all required financial reporting standards.
Annual Financial Report 2024
The Board approved the District’s 2024 Annual Financial Report (AFR), which will be posted on the district’s website. The AFR, required by the State Board of Education, provides combined statements of revenues and expenditures, schedules demonstrating compliance with legal and contractual requirements, and details on funding sources, including contributions from local, state, and federal levels.
Bus Lease
At a special meeting on Monday, December 16, the Board approved guidelines for a bus lease contract with Blue Bird Corporation for 31 buses. The lease, which will begin in the 2025-2026 school year, will not exceed $1,000,000 annually.
